hi guys,
I have been asked to quote for a job clearing the gutters on a site.
there is approx 600 mtrs at an average of 30 ft. The guttering is box guttering so on average about 7 inches deep by about 10 inches. it will have to be done from cherry picker.
Some of it has little trees growing out of it(6 ft trees) at 40 ft
I have an idea on price and time, but i wanted to see if my pricing is out. ive never priced a job this big before.
Does anyone have any idea how much i should be charging and how long it will take?
Thanks
Richy

You should easily be able to clear 200 metres a day. There will be a lot of crap comes out, so if there is nowhere on site to dump it you need to price for a skip. Its a 2 man job, 1 cleaning out and bringing it down and the other taking it off the cherry picker and dumping it. You need some decent size tubs and a spade or shovel that will fit in the gutter. Also make sure that the cherry picker will hold at least 2 men and tools.
I would price for 2 men for 3 days, and then add on cherry picker, skip, and any other extras.
Hope this helps. Regards Peter

I'd be looking for between £2 and £3 pound a metre depending on access and current state.

i can see in the 40ft gutter little trees growing 6 ft from the gutter and there is about 100 metres at this height over low roofs.
ive been told i would need a 65ft boom for reaching over other buildings. also 120ft (30 ft high) would have to be cleaned from a ladder as it is impossible to get cherry picker or scissor into a certain area

Richy, I should have read your original post more thoroughly.
At that height I would have to look at cost of access equipment and build this in. When I said £2 to £3 a metre I meant access via ladder only. This is a totally different ball game.
In fairness you seem to know what you're doing so sorry for the dud reply earlier/
