Title: Re: famous customers
Post by: Nathanael Jones on February 09, 2009, 08:40:45 am
I'll admit the price was steep enough,.. but ppl like that expect perfection, and the windows are all 21 panel timber Georgian sash and could have been problematic, so I quoted enough to cover washing every window twice the first time.

His PA sent me an aerial photo of the place,.. but I'm not allowed to show anyone!!! The place is fantastic tho. He paid 3 million for it,. then spent 30 million doing it up!!!

Given the opportunity to quote again, I'd happily cut my quote in half,.. I wouldn't mind making a loss on a job like that!!

:)

We once did one & none of us new him. He had famous comedian do funny dance/walk to it for charity & it reached no 1. Didn,t do it for long, long storey, but, not prepared to be messed about even if your famous. (His son was his manager & supposed to pay all his bill, fine when the builder payed first six months, took forever to get it of him, i ought to put the letter up that i sent that would make a few people laugh, i cant but the jist was just cause you are famous it doesnt mean you dont pay w/c.)

Not to sure why he gave it up , probley the pay as Im sure the BBC didnt pay the sort of money he was on with Audi , He's a top bloke , I think he own's the rights to the stigg name If I remember , he has a very good book out called F1 the hard way click - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flat-Out-Broke-Formula-re-issue/dp/1844250180

He used to have a new Audi S8 every few months to rag round in .

Quote-
Perry McCarthy decided at the age of 18 that he wanted to reach the top in the world's most expensive sport. With no racing experience, no cash, and little going for him except a passion for speed, the exuberant Cockney shouldn't have stood a chance. He never gave up, however, and his relentless search for backing and recognition led the man "The Times" dubbed 'the world's unluckiest racing driver' to heroic, often hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking efforts to make it into Formula 1. This is his autobiography.

Some of the storys he told me , you had to feel for the guy , While Damion Hill and co was earning the big bucks , Perry was driving to the F1 meets in a mini metro as he put his house on the line and lost the lot !
Some say he was the fastest thing in F1 but only got a F1 drive a few times.

If you into the stig or F1 , the book is ace read and very funny.
I didnt get a mention in it  :(

Jens Lehman.
got caught looking at his wifes a**e. shes a sort!
She went down the stairs, and you could see she wasn't wearing any drawers (plus the fact that there was 10 bras on the dryer and no knickers).
watched her go down the stairs, turned around and Jens was standing there with a wry smile on his face.
caught red handed and red faced.
he's moved now so don't mind saying.

i used to do 3 clangers who reckomended me to the soup dragon but  couldnt make out a word he was saying.

paddingtons windows were murder..all sticky fingure marks. Couldn't get Mr Benn to pay as each time I called a different fella answered the door. One week it was a cowboy the next an Indian. An Aussie rock band booked me but could only find this silly school kid at home. Tich was Quackers and the others were stuck up their own back sides. If Stan reckons they were famous its for the length of their prison sentences up fair view and wall Bank ;D But Widnes Full back Mick Burk did try to sell us some double glazing. he left with a sale and 5 pints of our home brew
