hard to believe that ultra pure system takes only 2 hours to fill 1000ltr tank and you dont change any fillters for 40.000 ltrs .
-
Do you need 1000 litres every 2 hours? If not then don't bother spending so much money!! A 4040 setup will produce more than enough for a 3 man wfp team,.. costs a fraction of the price of an ultra pure system.
-
Good point Nathan, ive managed with my 200 GPD unit for many years ;D
-
I recently got a merlin (I'm not on a meter!),.. It's switched off 90% of the time,.. makes water way too fast!!
:)
-
I have a twin 4040, powered by a grundfos booster pump.
I normally run it around 85psi = 500ltrs an hour
If I'm in a rush I can up the pressure to 150psi which gives me around 800ltrs an hr @ 001ppm
Didn't cost anything like the Ultra whatever it is - £3850 + VAT??
Mine was less than half that.

I had 8l per min from one 4040 with a booster pump so it could be possible, I got that 4040 from purefreedom

don't forget up here (Braehead, Glasgow) the water is colder which obviously slows down production rates.
I reckon if the water was warm, I could get 1000ltrs an hour.
I met a guy in Birmingham a few years ago who I stopped on the street (he was pole-ing) and he showed me in the back of his van - 6 x 4040!!
Apparently he only has access to a tap for 4hrs each evening or something like that so thats what he had in the van.
imagine how fast that would be on a pump!
-
so you recon ultra pure system is no good when it seems to me its the best one for the job.
it can do the same as all your other system but on its own .
-
and what is a 4040 system?
-

It is hard to believe and if you plug it in it will be even harder to believe!
It runs on twin 20" RO membranes. The 500 litres per hour quoted is the nominal rating of the membranes under laboratory optimum conditions with 25 degree water temperature. You will never achieve this in general working conditions in the UK. The actual production rate would be nearer to 150-200 litres per hour. Whilst this is still a good production rate it is hardly the headline figure advertised.

Not quite true!
The twin RO membranes are not what you find on the normal RO systems - a lot less waste and higher pressure - lot more efficient than ANY system currently made for window cleaning. As for production rate, a car valeting and window cleaning company in Cwmbran (contact details can be provided) has one running day in day out making just over 450ltrs an hour without fail for the last year! So saying they can only run at 150-200 litres without actually ownig/using one...........??

Hi Foxman - you're back ;D
You have to admit that is very unusual though. My information comes from the States where they are in regular use. I personally, if I was selling them, would err on the side of pessimism as there is always someone who will only get 1/4 of what's advertised.
-
i have got one and it is brilliant, even in this cold weather it produces 6lt per minute also it can be taken to site on large jobs and run 3 poles unlike your static systems, get a demo on one from window cleaning warehouse

Hi Al,
Hope your well! I'm back - not sure how long for!
Most RO's are sold as 300GPD, etc rarely do they hit those figures.
We've sold nearly 60 of these now and have had excellent results, 500ltrs is optimum 'lab' settings with everything perfect but they regularly hit production in the 400's.
Are you going to the Cleaning Show?
-
It takes 4 to 5 hours to fill my single 4040 650 ltr tank.Would a booster pump fill it that much quicker and reduce my ppm? Thanks for any advice.
-
Well I stand corrected :) They do achieve a better percentage than most RO membranes then. So 350-450 is achievable.
A few questions, How tall and wide are they? and what do they weigh?
-
for ordany window cleaners it a lot of cash how many one or to man bands use so much water now OCS wood benitfit but ordenry window cleaners i dont think so 4K is with out poles hose ex

Very true. With a bit of messing about and the right circumstances you can set up your own water needs at a fraction of the cost of most big name systems. The bigger companies don't have the time to mess about so a system like this is ideal
Saying that, a number of domestic window cleaners have bought them to save on water costs (as they are on a meter) as they can fill their tank up in an hour and off they go. A few window cleaners who live in flats with now storage space or access also use them - they have the machine in cuboard and fill the van with a hose out of the window!
-
its also fraction of waste , 100% pure 500ltrs 1 hour
pure freedom told me you need to plug in to lecky but thats no prob i can still use it at home to top tank in van wile im on dinner breake.

yep, thats exactly what i do
only have a 4040 though
i can fill my 650 ltr tank in about 3 hours
-
yes but it takes you three hours surely 1 hour is better .

Also saving 2 houts of water wasteage, so if your on a meter that means ££££.
You'll find most 'just set up xxx in the garage' are one man band types with more time than business on their hands, which is fine but not for everyone espeically if you've got bigger assperations.

ofcourse but at 4 times the cost?, besides 650 ltrs lasts me 2 days and I fill up of an evening or get up early, sorry i only jumped on this post because I'm one of the unfortunates with no garden/shed/garage/driveway but still manage to scrape by somehow ;D
-
so out of interest what is the waste ratio on one of these machines over a 4040 ?

jason - my ro unit was professionally built for me - it is all housed in framework and has wheels etc so actually mine is every bit as portable ( if I choose), it has everything needed, ro's, prefilters, di vessels etc.
again, less than half price and outperforms everything else.
