Title: the point of a web site

Ive just googled a area i need a window cleaner to have a look at a job for me

now i was looking for a direct site

the first 2 pages are clogged up with Yell, ufindus, biz search etc etc, its actually 2 pages intill i find a proper site

make you wonder why bother

Because all the tight wads like me use all the free sites to stick our names on  ;D
I have a website but i don't think anyone apart from me has ever seen it. I do wonder if they are a fashion accessory that we all have because that's what your supposed to do these days. I have picked up some work from the free ads but nothing from my own so far. Maybe the big boys have the knowledge and time to keep their sites on top of the search engines.

It is annoying but you can beat it by optimizing, my page is no.6 today on page 1 and all 6 are directories!!

But that s if you type in the area ie "manchester" followed by "window cleaner"

anything like just "window cleaner" and theres no chance, full of shops and directories, plus its a bit vague anyway - surely people do type in the area they live in too???

A bloke from Yell.com rang me today and quoted me £1000 a year to advertise with them,i was quiet surprised how much it was to be honest £20 a week.

my web page is in the top 4 depending on the search term and im also listed in the local business map, which shows before the listings.

Try Googling "Window Cleaner Sittingbourne" ;D ;D

I paid a fortune for a Yell.com ad and got no enquiries at all, but my cheap ads in local magazines pay for themselves many times over.

If your site is optimised properly it'll beat all the ufindus type rubbish no problem.

Try a search for window cleaners in Fleetwood,... :)

Nat, that will change trust me  ;) optimisted site works well a small siet against ufindus is very hard to sytay above and it takes a lot of work weekly to keep it above.

My own site and my fathers haven't been changed in months,.. still the top listings if you search our area (clean it up). Google likes good original content. The more text the better!

Limavady window cleaner and I'm no 1 - think its because I'm the only one with a web site ha! ha!
