Title: Van and Trailer
Post by: scud on February 03, 2009, 08:11:48 pm
Now, if I had my van fully loaded with water and equipment (which it is plus some more every morning), could I then still use the vans towing capacity on top of that?

Your van should have a gross train weight stuck on it somewhere.

This combination of van plus vehicle will also be relevant to whether you passed your test before 97. Before 97 you can tow a larger trailer. After 97 you can only tow a trailer up to 750kgs. if you want to use and drive towing a larger trailer then you need to do a further test.

Think my HGV might help me past that bit!

I never knew about the vehicle train weight thing, I will look it up.

If that was yesterday then you can only tow a trailer on your license up to 750 kgs. If that was 25 yrs ago then you can tow a much larger trailer.

if it was yesterday - congratulations!!!
