Title: what van
Post by: joe.b on February 03, 2009, 07:03:21 pm
hey everyone looking at spending around 2.5k on a new van, now i dont know what to do as its either a vivaro type van or a little bit bigger transit, a medium top one so a little bit more space, or i was thinking a small astravan and a nice trailer so it leaves the van open?

any ideas

I use old Post Office vans LDV Pilots(no don't laugh), I've been wfp for 5 years and on my 3rd one, they sell them on after 5 years of use, they have been serviced 10 times in that time, you can pcik one up for £1800 plus vat from auctions. Use them for 2 years then sell them on. These are the plus points.

Bad points.
They are bright red, ugly and they are scratched and dented, everyone will say it's Postman pat and he's been sacked and become a windy. But I don't care, I still get good quality work, and cause I have a crap van people assume they are getting a good deal

i used to drive a LDV Sherpa, it was a fairly old van and used to run and run, i even ran 1 completely dry of oil ( not on purpose )

very solid vans underneath, would be easy to fix a tank in
