Title: shurflo pump
Post by: G & M on February 02, 2009, 05:56:48 pm
Can someone tell me if pumping hot water through the normal shurflo pump will cause damage to the pump.
I want to experiment with heating the water using a homemade solar setup during the summer and then transferring the hot water(hopefully hot) to the tank in the van. Anyone know if it will be bad for the pumps?

yes should be ok, the diaphram is made of nylon, and seals hard rubber.

Should be ok as the majority of HWE carpet Machines use shurflow pumps and some of these machines crank some heat out and get pretty hot

i would have thought that all the seals in them are all the same

Thanks Jon & Lee. Heating the water might be the hardest part.
