My hose leaks quite badly when Ifirst switch it on,it leaks from thehoselock connection and also from the inside at the end of the hose where it joins the reel.
Have tried new hoselock connection........any ideas welcome
Thanks

Buy a brass elbow joint from Gardiners for the reel and ptfe tape the threads on the reel. Try and do away with Hozelock connections as much as possible and use jubilee clips and barbed ends.

What sort of a reel have you got? The garden centre plastic ones don't last long.

John Guest are the best lol.

use plenty of silicone sealant on the joints.. works a treat :D
-
Tape over the connections with standard PVC tape. It is temporary and easy to cut apar with a sharp knife

Why are pepole bothering to reply with saying use tape etc, just buy John Guest fittins they don`t leak.
-
yes john guest are ideal in van but the problem here is the hose trolley all the plastic hose trollies will leak you can replace the centre of the hose reel with plummers pipe and two john guest fittings but still will leak due to friction (continous movement)
-
Where can i buy john west fittings from its worth a try.
Thanks for replies everyone
