Does anyone know if there is such a thing available? Our pump is Just over 2 years old now and when its switched on it needs the occasional tap to start it running, without stripping it down it seems to me as if the brush's are wearing out, are these available and while I'm at it is the diaphragm available as a separate item?

yes you can get a new diaphram (head) for 25 quid from williams pump, wouldnt have throught it was the brushes as they are really long, worth checking, might be pressure switch
-
I use a varistream so the pressure switch is by-passed
-
must be brushes, a bit tricky
-
been thinking a bit more, could be a dirty stator plate, part the bruches connect on, if you take it apart clean it with a toothbrush to get the carbon out

My pump is three years old and does the same thing. Don't think it owes me much, Ill probably just junk it when it gets too bad. Somedays its fine.

I will strip it and check it out, I am buying a new one but it will be nice to get this one working as it used to and keep it for a spare.

I phoned williamsonspumps last year for some info on a new faulty pump. They couldn't have been less interested, it was like trying to get blood out of a stone. the guy was a total prat!!

The guy I spoke to told me to buy another brand new pump while I sorted this brand new one out, then I'd have a spare! ::)
I was only after info & not for them to replace the pump (which cleantech did anyway)

Tony did you ask at cleantech if they did the spares? I have always found them very helpful at cleantech.

Cleantech weren't the problem Jeff, they shipped me a new pump the next day. All I wanted to know from w/pumps was if it could be air causing the problem I was having & if it could cause the noise which the pump was making. I was only doing this to make everyone's life easier in the end. You would have thought I'd just shot his mother from the reaction I got! ::)
