so about the price it should be then, its cheaper to go on a 3 day cruise to the med normally.

I am yet to go to butlins, I will one day, haven etc have been to for long weekends from the sun

Ian you had a sheltered childhood if you never went to Butlins   ;D
I went to the isle of wight for my holidays till I was 11 then no holidays, I would not say sheltered, my mum and dad went bankrupt in the last recession took them till I was 16 to get back on there feet, then went abroad when I was 16  ;D,
I looked at butlins and there prices are very high for the UK, I prefer sun, sea and sangria  ;D

how are you going on with the hernia  ???

its getting ok now, the pain has gone ( unless i walk too far or do something strenuous ) the only concearn is i only have 1 week of my planned time off left, and i honestly feel miles away from working full time, i might just havea  few short 3 / 4 hour days to get back into it

cheers for asking ;)

we often go to haven, normally 1 or 2 X 1 week breaks and a handfull of weekend getaways, normally in 1 of havens park homes, sometimes in the VW campervan

we spoke to some1 at haven last year who said the childrens entertainment was much better at butlins, thus we thought we would look into it, full prices its a touch OTT, but these prices were good enough

ive said it before, why bother working hard if you cannot enjoy the fruits of your labour

I worked at butlins when i was younger, for three years. It was rubbish money, but to be honest you didn't need money when working there because everything was free, apart from the beer but we got that really cheep so that made up for the cr*p wages lol. I was a silver service waiter and the Tips where very good, got about £20-£45 per a day/eve. I met all the celebrities and got a whole list of autographs as the restaurant where i worked was where they would dine for the evening. It used to overlook the nightclub section. But the best bit was if the directors where there entertaining, which was about three times a week the club was not allowed to shut.So some nights it was open to about 3.30am in the morning .

I always enjoy going camping as its a lot cheaper :D Especially when its raining, makes for more of an adventure, and spend the rest of the time in the pub sampling the local brew :D

Took the kids to Center Parc a few years back. It was OK but just OK. Everything was charged extra which made it a very expensive holiday. Couldn't believe there was no entertainment in the evenings.

I used to enjoy camping but my wife refuses to go.

I worked in Butlins Pwllheli for a season back in 1963 for an amusements concession.
An essential part of any young mans education[to quote Ringo Starr] Ringo had played there two years before with a band called Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.
Our boss, a guy called Harry Carrington was a professional drummer, and actually gave Ringo a few tips.
Now not many people knew that.

we try to have 2 weekend breaks at center parcs per year aswell, the only entertainment is 1 midweek night ( party on the parc ) and saturday early evening ( its a kids disco and a buffet meal )

center parcs can work out very pricey, but the pool is nice

how old are they

mine are 1 and 5 ( allmost 6 )

to be honest, i think she has had enough of Haven and entertainment, though people have said to me  its our fault, 2 orlando disney holidays in the space of 18 months have slightly raised the stakes, afterall disney do childrens entertainment well

Sorry about that, I like all the old bands because I am a sad old git. Where do they post details?

Now that its no smoking it might be worth going. Before, when they allowed smoking the bars at Butlins were foul.
