30 psi won't get the water to the top of a 60' pole,.. prob not to the top of a 40' pole.

I know a 60psi pump will push water 60' high,.. and most 100psi pumps can be adjusted down to 60psi with an alan key.

anti clockwise to lower the pressure.

If you use a varistream, you have to adjust the pressure on that instead as it bypasses the pump's pressure switch.

mines an Ionic effort and it swells the hose up too 100 psi then cuts out even with the vari

the hot pump has got a return to the tank and is on its 3rd year no probs so no pressure builds up
in this hose but the cold side is pump to the reel with no return but the pressure builds up to 100 psi
and when its hot swells the hose and eventually bursts it by the reel and we have had 3 pumps in 3
years so now im going to put a return in  this side to , just to relieve pressure that's why I thought
about the lower pressure pump. this only happens when the hose is idle and left on say when we have
finished the ups and going to get the short pole for downstairs

What hose are you using? I've got standard minibore and even with really hot water the hose never swelled,.. even before I adjusted  my pressure down!

you can fit a pressure relief valve - most of them can be adjusted to whatever pressure you need it to divert at - only prob is your pump will keep running.

however the relief water can be returned to tank

Varistream isn't working or the pressure switch on the pump is still wired in.

Two points:

1 The hose from the pump to the reel should be the clear reinforced "high pressure" hose.  It has a thicker wall than standard hose and is therefore more difficult to get on the fittings.  We have six set-ups, five using 100psi pumps and never have "swelling" issues.

2  A 60 psi pump is adequate to get water through 100m of microbore and then up to 40 feet at about 2-3 litres a minute.

sorry mate I don't - a good plumbers merchant will stock them, think they are called blow-off valves or something, they're normally used in pressurized domestic systems.
