Title: honda in swindon shut for 4 months
Post by: matt on January 30, 2009, 01:03:46 pm
Production at the Japanese giant's plant will be halted until June 1, with 4,200 workers receiving full pay for the first two months, reduced to 60 percent for the rest of the shutdown.

i wonder if it will effect the boys local to swindon

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing today.

Those guys at that plant have guaranteed wages for the next 4 months (albeit at a lower level after 2 months, but its still money).

You couldnt ask for a better opportunity.

We have lost 4 custies so far due to Honda, and 2 due to Woolworths (they had a big distribution depot here).

I think you are right Seandyer2003, we will have a lot of competition during Spring!
The Honda custies we had reckon they will be off for longer, maybe until August!
