Post by: bridget36907 on March 20, 2005, 09:38:25 pm
Hi I am new to this and i want to start out a carpet cleaning business. I have purchased thi item
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7501488466

I want to start out with residential.

My basic questions are

pricing..what's the basic prices?

type solution to use with this cleaner?

also when some one wants basic cleaning or deep cleaning..what would be the difference?

should i always use some type of prespray?

how would i use this equiptment..basically  do i start by weting and vacuming or weting and letting it sit for a minute.. then vacum?

also do somone know of a site with start up instructions?

also do some one have a copy of a sample flyer used to promote business?

I am in the atlanta area..thanks

Bridget, you have bought yourself a reasonably good piece of equipment to start out with, however you must get some training for yourself, either by going on a course or at least spending some time with some other cleaner to get some experience or maybe the guy who sold you the equipment might help you .
There is a lot to learn but a good basoc course will get you on the right road. I will not even try to tell you about pricing as I know nothing about US rates, but do not work too cheaply or you will never succeed. As you are from the States, Bridget you should have a look at the Cleanfax bulletin board, some very helpful people there, and do not forget that marketing your business is very important too. Look up Joe Polish of Piranha Marketing and you will learn a few important things.
