Title: 8mm hose
Post by: mlscontractcleaner on January 29, 2009, 06:06:18 pm
Hi all.

As a user of 12.5mm hose I'm quite happy to have it running across a road and letting cars drive over it; not all day you understand, but for a short while whilst I'm working I don't mind as it's tough stuff and has never split on me.

My question; is 8mm hose as robust or will it damage if a car or worse, a bus, drives over it  ???

I'd hate to start the day with a single 100m reel of hose and return home with two 50m reels :'(

8mm will be fine mate, I have 6mm microbore which is 3 years old and it has been driven over a million times by everything!

8mm 'Minibore' and 6mm 'Microbore' hoses are actually more resistant to vehicles driving over them than larger bore hoses. They will also kink less and are generally a lot easier to work with.

Thanks for the quick answers lads; I guess I'll be popping up to Varitech on Monday. It'll be nice not to have to use an extension on the end of my 50m hose!
