Title: Ultimate Master powder
Post by: Nathanael Jones on January 29, 2009, 06:01:00 pm
I haven't done any carpet cleaning for a couple of years (I moved over to window cleaning, office cleaning etc), but still have the equipment,.. so when I started getting a lot of phone calls after Xmas I decided to get the gear out, clean it up and get to work.

I've always used Ultimate Master from Alltec,.. but when I went onto their website to order more, I couldn't find it!
Has it been discontinued? If so,.. what alternatives are there?

I've tried microsplitters and found the results just weren't consistent,.. they did a great job on some carpets, and absolutely nothing on others,.. so I'd like to stick with a detergent based system,.. a good "all rounder".

My local supplier stocks the Prochem range, and most of my stain removers are prochem,..

I gave it a good go for a month and it definitely has its place.

Very handy for lightly soiled wool when you're in a rush and your sprayers empty. Couple of scoops in the tank and you are off again.

I used it for about 5 years in total and found it a good cleaner there again have not used it for 7 years as have used prochem and a few other products now.

Oh it is a good cleaner allright but I had to stop using it as it was without doubt shortening pump life. Does anyone know of a pump which would be Ultimate Master resistant.

I use ultimate master a lot and my pump is over 3 years old, but I do flush with fresh water when i've finished. I used to get a lot of clogged jets with prochems extraction pro liquid, then I switched to Crystal Green, same thing. Thats why I switched to UM in the first place. I've been using for at least five years. Must say though powdered woolsate is lovely stuff ;D and I still use gallons of Fibre and Fabric rinse it's good but getting very expensive :(

As I have a TM now so I dont use UMaster any more.

(I was looking at their TM powder the other day and looks very economical indeed)

I used it for years and found it a very good powder for general carpet cleaning, Ok you have to prespray something extra now and again on very dirty carpets but as a general run of the mill powder I found it very good indeed. Didnt use it on upholstery very much only on Dralon. It says on the tub you can use it for LM buffing but I thought the results were lousy.

And no I didnt find it shortened the life of my pumps. I live in hard water area so I expect problems but none more than usual.
