Title: What should i do ?
Post by: Mr Sparkle on January 28, 2009, 09:28:57 am
Did a new custies house last week and she was in and said can you come back for the money, I said no probs and told her when i'd be back to collect however she wasn't in and neither is she answering the phone. There was something about her i didn't like when i took the job. What's the best thing to do to get paid? Or should i just drop her and forget about it? Don't like being conned though and feel like throwing eggs at her windows to get my own back

try calling from a different phone, incase its your number thats she is not responding to. call round untill you get paid. if still she doesnt pay, move on and forget about it, try and act proffessional, you dont want to get a bad name, it only takes one loud mouth cow to bad mouth you.

you never know for sure what someones situation is, she could have been ill or had a peronal crisis etc..
I tend to give people benefit of the doubt as you never can tell, people have busy lives and it could easily have slipped her mind when you were going to call back and she was'nt there.
Why not leave a note asking her politely to call you asap to make payment ? If she does'nt well then maybe you were right to smell a rat.

Asda are currently doing 15 for a quid.  They're not free range though.

Go back, put a letter thru the door advising to send a cheque or arrange another collection, monies not paid within 60 days get a £5.00 additional charge. In a further letter then advise you will be passing it onto a dept recovery company to get the money if not settled within 90 days of the cleaning date and will be charging an additional £100 on top of the money (cost of dept recovery) plus other charges outstanding.

I get all the info from the FSB regarding the wordings of these letters.. that and free banking, free legal advise on these matters etc was my main reasons to join..

Its amazing how quick they pay up.. although you may have lost a customer.. but least they see your a professional business and not a fly by night windy..

tonight and pulls up right in front of house in my sign written van, and as i takes the seat belt off, the custy jumps in her car and reverses straight past me from her drive and takes off down the road. she even had to slow down to not clip the van she couldnt have failed to see me and realise who i was. i was raging shes due me two months money  but she just blanked me and pretended i wasnt there

one of my custies cancelled on me earlier this week..

i went round today to enquire why.. they said it was cos they couldn;t keep up with payment..

I said i could come and collect but most of the time, people are out, or having dinner etc, as i have tried to collect from them before..

I left it with them, if they want to send a chq, set up a standing order, or to arrange a call and collect system, or even leave it somewhere safe for me to collect.

If that wasn;t the reason, i left it on good terms anyway...

you just cant help some..

It's only 12 pounds but want to give her the benefit of the doubt and keep her on my books. If i don't hear anything in a weeks time i'll drop her and get the eggs out ;D ;)

you cant expect to get paid straight away all the time.im constantly owed about £250, each week new people go on the list and others pay and come off the list

Beiong owed about £500 is normal for me.  Sometimes, when I'm busy and a lot of custies are on holiday, it may even reach £1500.
