Title: refillable di vessel or the other kind?
Post by: marcoboyle on January 28, 2009, 01:32:47 am
was just looking for another di vessel and theyre coming in at about £75 for an 11litre blue refillable.
But i noticed these http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/33/products_id/98 and wondered if they do the same job? and if they do are they replacable as in the filter inside or can u jsut put resin in? it says in the description you can when the filter is done. is it cost effective? i think id quite like to be able to put two in as you can screw them to a board on the side of the tank keep ing them out the way, one for each pump.

yes? no? cant find anyone talking about them everyone uses the blue refillables.

yes you can refill the filter it just as a screw on bottom on the filter , youd be better with the blue ones for the van as the 1 from ro man dont hold much resin and you would be changing it a lot .

It is dependant on what your inlet TDS is and your flow rate through the vessel. If your inlet TDS is higher than 003 then personally I would go for a larger DI Vessel depending on inlet TDS.

Do not go by their statement as that is totally wrong :- "I will Remove 7500 TDS."

are you using resin only and whats your tap tds , theres a good topic on meters at the moment if you need 1 to check .

my tap gives out about 34ppm in the tds, so im figuring i need to just get another blue resin vessel. unless i use the vessel from the tap to the tank, then i have two of the ro man 10"  filters going to the two hosereels as they should really be at 0 or 1 from the tank and they would just keep on top of any ppm that happen after the tank. and that would mean they'll last plenty long enough.

Fitting these after the pumps will cause you problems with flow.

They are only for very low flow rate such as out of a small RO. The fittings are for 1/4 inch piping.

They are no good at all for what you want to do with them.

Marco,

With tap TDS of 34 you only need a DI Vessel, which area are you from. You not by any chance based in Scotland.
