I have an ad running in one of those local phone book type things. Anyway got a call today and went to price it up - four storey georgian pane sash windows in the middle of a terrace on a mega steep hilll with no decent access for the van. I took one look and said no thanks. Normally i'll try anything once but not this time.
So Kev James if you want a job in B-O-A give me a shout!

how much would you have charged for the job if access hadnt been a problem ?
this is where a backpack or trolley come in handy .

I agree; a van-mounted WFP only user couldn't do the job; a trad window cleaner wouldn't have wanted the job, so you could have stuck in a high price since it's a 'niche' type job.

This is exactly the reason I went for a trolley system. I get alot more different work than alot of van mounted guys just because access is an issue.

Couldnt it be done by parking your van down the road?
Ive got 100m of hose so can reach most places
Just a thought....

Just by having 100 metre of hose does not subtract away from the potential hazards and risks associated with trailing hoses.
Irrespective of signs, these are not fail safes that will prevent accidents. You are required to cordon off the area, otherwise you can easily find yourself with a tripping liability. Better ask your insurance company if they will fully cover this type of neglect to cover any claim 100% or will be asking you for "some" of the money in any attempt of a claim - believe me if they can get out of paying a claim, they will.
The "no win no fee" claims will be finding their way onto window cleaners who trail hoses about.. it only takes some savvy joe public to work this out.. and have a "trip" and injure their necks/back etc..
So yes the only way you can really do it is by a trolley/backpack or trad.
