Title: Supplies & Equipment Recommendation

Following on from my "Should I - Shouldn't I" thread, can i ask you wonderful people to recommend suppliers, supplies and equipment.

Just to be clear i'm not after the all singing all dancing WFPS just yet; that can come with time and income. For now i'm more interested in water treatments / additives, water storage systems, basic tools, toolbelts, etc. Just good basic items that will allow me to get out and earning.

Or put another way: What do you use, why and where can i get it from (online suppliers a bonus).

Comments on products and suppliers to avoid might also be handy.

Take a look online to find the best deals. (I tend to use Soap National a lot.)

Don't do what I did and buy lots of unnecessary equipment. My basic trad set up would be:
Squeegee (try a 10", 12" & 14" channel - they don't cost a lot - to see which you prefer to use. Unger or Ettore are good kit)
14" applicator and sleeve
large w/cleaner's bucket (I recommend getting one with a lid)
Soap (I like squeegee off)
Microfibre cloths for detailing
Pouch, bucket on belt and webbing belt
Scraper
Ladders (trade, not diy)

With regard to ladders, Midland Ladders is a good place to start. I use pointer ladders now, but started off with an ordinary ladder. If you use ordinary ladders, get ladder mitts. Get safety feet attached to any ladder you buy. Look at the other safety gear for ladders, too.

That's the danger i suppose, going out and getting carried away buying every gadget and chemical you can find. I'm the same when buying tools for my bikes. I go in for a 17mm socket and come out with enough tools to stock a F1 racing team pit.

All i want to do is get a nice realistic set of kit that'll get me going; what you describe seems like the kind of thing. I can then look into other items and bits of kit as and when (and if) i start making money.

Keep the advice coming, the more i know the less i'm likely to get wrong.
