Post by: detec52 on January 23, 2009, 05:04:21 pm
Anyone use the vauxhall combo but with the 1.3 cdti engine? as far as i know its the fiat multijet engine, 60mpg? so they say, i have the 1.7 isuzu engine in mine but looking at getting a later one, anyone here use one?

Don`t think you`ll get anywhere near 60mpg with half a ton in the back cos you won`t,more like 40mpg if the truth be known don`t listen to salesman types when there selling.

decent payload for a small can, even some have side loading doors, so dave if you choose the right shape an size tank could there be enough room for hose reel petrol jet wash and it attachments

Malc, its a digi flowmaster, designed by PureFreedom.

Andrew Thompson was telling me about it. They designed it but the manufacturers making them are also selling them to other outlets.

A company who my mate works for have bought a new fleet of vans so theyre selling the old ones. It needs taxing but its got MOT.

For £100 notes its a bargain.

Dave is your tank just held down with straps?
Title: Re: Vauxhall Combo
Post by: dave.e on January 24, 2009, 08:46:12 pm
hi matt yes the tank is held down with straps at the mo i am going to have a 400lt tank made and it will have a frame round it. ive tried a 400lt upright tank but the filler cap hits the roof so hence having one made.dave
Title: Re: Vauxhall Combo
Post by: dave.e on January 24, 2009, 08:50:40 pm
hi dave0123 the tank is 350lt. the bad point about combo's is the floor slopes towards the back thats why its better to have a upright tank. dave

I have a Combo 1.3cdti 55 plate. It NASA pure feedom upright system fitted which works brilliantly. Also have trad gear, one hose reel (only me) and it pulls really well, no problems at all. It does about 92miles on 10 litres of diesel. It's great to work on your own but if I'd gone for a transit connect LWB two people could have worked from a 500 litre tank and a full load with 100kg to spare (almost 1000kg payload compared to combo 825).

But if your on your own the combo is great.
Ps. I find the side door usefull
