Anyone use the vauxhall combo but with the 1.3 cdti engine? as far as i know its the fiat multijet engine, 60mpg? so they say, i have the 1.7 isuzu engine in mine but looking at getting a later one, anyone here use one?
-
i want a combo eventually, not a diesel though a 1.4 16v petrol/lpg, loads cheaper to run
-
Don`t think you`ll get anywhere near 60mpg with half a ton in the back cos you won`t,more like 40mpg if the truth be known don`t listen to salesman types when there selling.
-
whats the payload on the newer shape combo
-
i have a combo 1.3 cdti 785kg what would you like to know. dave
-
hi nwh you are right the combo 1.3cdti about 40 ish mpg and thats so long as your not a test pilot.dave
-
decent payload for a small can, even some have side loading doors, so dave if you choose the right shape an size tank could there be enough room for hose reel petrol jet wash and it attachments
-
1.3 combo with a tank of water in the back not only will be slow but it will be eating clutchs aswell
-
hi mate i have 1 350 lt tank 2 hose reel 3 poles all trd gear and more van is very nippy with load on and with out like sh.t off a shovel so take one for test drive and you will be surprise trust me. dave
-
Dave where did you source the info about your combos payload?
-
hi mate on the vin plate off the van. thay only did to pay loads mine is the 2000 785kg and the other is 1700 592kg.dave
-
info on new shape combo
1.3cdti 2000 785kg
1.3cdti 1700 592kg
1.7cdti 2000 785kg
1.7cdti 1700 592kg
hope this helps anyone that wanted to know. dave
-
So when it says 2000 or 1700 what does that refer to?
Or rather whats the difference between a 2000 and a 1700?
-
hi mat its the gross payload. all off the vans have coil springs its just the 2000 model has uprated springs and wider weels mine is a 56 plate and an x bt fleet van with 13000 on the clock payed £5395 and i am over the moon with it. dave

That looks so cute lol, one thing i wish they did to mine was put varistream on the side of tank so its there when you open the doors.

No, we spoke about the tank positioning but it was all fine.
-
MATT is that a varistream? it don't look like my digi' varistream?
Tony
Malc, its a digi flowmaster, designed by PureFreedom.
Andrew Thompson was telling me about it. They designed it but the manufacturers making them are also selling them to other outlets.
-
i have a combo and was thinking of having the 350l system in it, i havnt got a side door tho, do you think this will matter, are the vans without side door the same size lengthways or a bit shorter, do you know?
-

all he knows is its cheap :o
-
A company who my mate works for have bought a new fleet of vans so theyre selling the old ones. It needs taxing but its got MOT.
For £100 notes its a bargain.

-
Same tank as mine, mines in a kangoo with a 800kg payload i may upgrade to a 500L tank yet ;)
-
what tank is in the back of that dave?
does anyone know if a 400 litre upright fits in the back of a combo or too big?
-
Dave is your tank just held down with straps?
-
hi matt yes the tank is held down with straps at the mo i am going to have a 400lt tank made and it will have a frame round it. ive tried a 400lt upright tank but the filler cap hits the roof so hence having one made.dave
-
hi dave0123 the tank is 350lt. the bad point about combo's is the floor slopes towards the back thats why its better to have a upright tank. dave
-
ive got a 400 lit upright in the garden will have to see if it will fit in then first :-\ lol cheers
-
I.ve just brought a combo 1.4i whats the ideal tank for it without burning clutch's every week??
-
I have a Combo 1.3cdti 55 plate. It NASA pure feedom upright system fitted which works brilliantly. Also have trad gear, one hose reel (only me) and it pulls really well, no problems at all. It does about 92miles on 10 litres of diesel. It's great to work on your own but if I'd gone for a transit connect LWB two people could have worked from a 500 litre tank and a full load with 100kg to spare (almost 1000kg payload compared to combo 825).
But if your on your own the combo is great.
Ps. I find the side door usefull
