I've been using the gas tap ones at the top of the page but they are fiddley to change if your on the fly so to speak. Does anyone use the push fit variety below - are they any good or does the hose pull out if you yank it on a wheely bin?
-
No not that one - the push fit one?
-
Usually the tap breaks so i then have to rummage for a new one and cut the old one off,fit the olives, the o clips and the insert then bolt the whole thing back together. Be a lot easier to just pop a new push fit on when it breaks.
-
I had one of thes and once un conected theyre hard to stop leeking once connected back together.

We use these all the time. I find that they work very well, occasionally you can get one that does not bed properly. If this happens it is usually a case of pulling the hose out cutting the end off and pushing it back in firmly. I find that once you have pushed the hose in properly you can even haul the microbore around just by pulling on the pole hose.
They do have several advantages for the user:
1. They are very easy and quick to fit.
2. They are much lighter and more compact than previous models.
3. They allow for quick removal of sections from the new SL-X pole.

aignep ball valve, very handy

Pardon?
Alex, has your pole hose always been 8mm? I can't remember.
-
I like the look of those quick fit valves. Who sells them?

these are even lighter

these are even lighter
I've got one of these. They are lighter but they don't fit in the hand as nicely and the valve is a lot harder to operate.
Pardon?

Originally we used 9mm pole hose but about 18 months ago we switched to 8mm as it was slightly lighter.

i know what you mean Alex i got one of these to try and fit to the pole but never got around to it as i'm still using the remote i tested.

I have been using the push fit one's from gardiners now for a few months.
Much better than the gas valves and only take a few seconds to fit.

yea and no other tail connectors push-fit are the way forward i use in-line for hose brakes and t-bits at the brush end, the list goes on, its better than all those rectus bits an bobs.
