You wagtail/flipper users: what cones are you using on the end of your poles? I have a Harris pole with the cone that came with it and the fit isn't particularly snug. I've looked at an Unger version but that didn't seem right. The only cone that really fits well is one from a crappy Lidel gutter cleaning tool. Idealy i would like to mount it on the end of a normal plastic angle adapter (Vikan thread). Why is nothing simple? Why isn't everything standardised? Quick rummage through B&Q and nothing is good enough for me. :-[

get to work, you lazy so and so ;) its only raining a little bit :o
-
I did when the rain stopped - but not for long. The easyfit connector fell apart, then i had to get two van tyres then my pump got air in it so i took the strainer off and ptfe'd the thread. Then i had to rush home and take the youngest swimming! I don't know how i had time for a proper job before!
Oh, and i found a ladder stand off on the back of a customers shed £2.00 later and it's in the back of my van ;D

I mounted an unger fitment onto a 5m harris pole it needed a little bit of packing and drilling for the spring pins but its a nice tight fit, and the wagtail works brilliantly.

I'm using an optiloc (unger ) seems to fit quite well, not used the flipper all that much I think i'm saving it to try out on some of my shop fronts

I must say that I am quite impressed with the Flipper, I used it today on some of our shops that have high panes of glass that I would normally use steps for & it was very good whether used on a pole or just in your hand , cant see it replacing wfp but not a bad trad tool

THE PAD ON THE WAGTAIL FLIPPER JUST DOESN'T HOLD ANYWHERE NEAR ENOUGH WATER NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO SOAP ONE BIG PANE OF GLASS WHICH I FIND RENDERS IT USELESS AS YOU HAVE TO RE APPLY SOLUTION TO IT CONSTANTLY. iM MUCH QUICKER WITH MY ETTORE BACKFLIP ON A POLE REALLY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE FLIPPER I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE GREAT. >:( >:( >:(

Is it not enough to do the high area of the glass, till you can reach without using the pole?
-
It doesnt hold any where near as much water as a standard mop, but there is a knack to using it and prolonging the water. I found the flip mop has an edge because of the squeegee underneath so it just moves the water around the window and creates drier patches when you push upwards.
I decrease the angle of the handle towards the window and take the pressure off when pushing upwards to counter this which gives you a better coverage of the window. At the moment i easily have enough water in it to cover 2 large upstairs windows then i refill for the downstairs.
I know its not perfect but it has really saved me time once i got the hang of it.

Tosh I can't even get one normal size shop pane wet with it in the freezing damp and cold I dread to think what it would be like in the summer or the wind. You'd better like the sound of squeegee squeaking on dry glass!!

Been using it fine no problems, works for me i use daily

It's the equivalent of eating a packet of jacob's cream crackers one after an other without so much as a glass of water to wash them down, and then trying to applicate the windows using your tongue!!! LOL LOL ;D ;D ;D

Ive had no probs.
Used it on the inside where a log burner was belting out the heat. The property had big windows and angular going into the apex of the roof. Covered the windows well.
You have to get used to there not being so much fluid on the aplicator.
The window does not need to be so wet like a normal aplicator would do. Hence there is little run off.
