Hi all,
I am now in the process of a complete rebrand of my business and the first thing I want to do is get a website. My question is, I run a mac so is there anything to consider in respect of compatability.
-
Should be compatible,....
Still,.. shave off the beard, put away you warcraft figurines, and buy a PC,.... ;)
-
haven't these guys heard of iPods? Had a mac for 15 years & I've upgraded once. Beautiful to look at & a beauty to use. Reliable & uncomplicated. Will run any software you'll ever need. Crack on son!

It was only a couple of years ago that I gave away my Amstrad PCW.
If you Google it, you may need the historical archives.
The bit that amazed me was that someone out there actually wanted it. I thought it was a tip job.
Seems amazing now but I actually managed workable spreadsheet and database programs on it. They had to be loaded at separate times of course due to the shortage of memory. I could fit six months work records on a floppy disc. So it was two discs per year's records. The expenditure had to be in a different file completely as it wouldn't fit on disc. These things had no hard drives.
Anyway, I'm going for a shave now :)

You must be having a laugh! surely? Macs cain PC's hands down. ;)

No problems at all, it's more down to the web browser that people are using safari ie7, firefox ect. I did my website using iWeb that comes as standard on a mac.
Simon.
Ps nat macs to pcs are what hot is to cold, once you to mac you can't go back.

lets not lose sight of the problem here, its not with PC's, its the OS, put on linux and PC's have little faults, we are all to blame, we took the easy option and just didnt question Bill ::), now people are sitting up and thinking, what else can i use

Cheers all,
I love my mac, iphone and shuffle. Top gear and will never go back to a PC. Wil crack on with the website then.
Thanks All

No denials about the beard & warcraft figurines then???
;)
Mac's are good, I have to admit,... but there just isn't the same range of software,.. its the only reason I stick with PC's.

SherwoodCleaningSe said it well - with very few exceptions, a website is a website regardless of the OS.
On your Mac you will be VIEWING the website quicker, while all the windows users are waiting 4-5 mins for it to boot, more time for security updates, then a reboot cos they moved the mouse. ;)
Personally I'm with matt - Penguin-powered PCs!

you can have glitches between browsers on macs and PC's no apparent reasons, that make no sense. but it can happen, its happened to some i've designed before with no logic to why
