if its just raining it should be fine the problem is if it is windy too then they can dry a mess.

it does not matter if we think we have done a great job or not, fact is we work for them and if they don't like it then thats up to them.

Spot on! :D
We'll do most commercial work as they're not too bothered.
We don't do residential properties in the rain. There are too many factors. The rain itself doesn't affect them but rain drops running from the frame above, dust particles picked up from the wind or anything else nearby can cause the windows to eventually dry spotty.
I've had too many say that the rain spoiled them.
I don't care how many I read about on here who clean in the rain, they are not my clients and don't pay me.
Anyway, must go now, got a job I can do in the rain....it's lashing down! :o

exactly
ask them to be honest, they will not like it, they might tolerate it, afterall, your honest / on-time / normally do a good job etc etc and its hard to find a good window cleaner
but i have explained it to my customers ( last autumn when we had loads of rain ) and most said, well if you have to, we understand you need to earn a living, but they were not that happy with it

I don't like not being out but i would feel i was doing a dis-service, same as i would not go and wash the car in it. anyone that says it would still be clean when dried is lying so why would glass on window be any different.
it really does my head in though i must admit!

How long have you been wfp?
Smeary windows are on the inside, I've never left a window smeary with wfp, spotty perhaps. Ask them to show you. Rub your finger over it, and see, see? You need them cleaned on the inside.
Cleaning in the rain, traditional, or wfp is fine.

i think commercial work is different because we all have time scales and prior arrangement , but residential my customers anyway are funny and just tell me not to clean them this month so its easy to get disheartened. dont want to lose work especially not in this financial climate
:D

Offer a guarantee, if they aint satisfied and inform you within 24hrs, you'll re-clean it........ no problems then....

Yes but what if it's still raining - will you reclean it in the rain? ;D
-
Just shut your eyes and waggle the brush about a bit - could probably shut your water off too whilst your there.

the rain acts as the water, you can disconnect your hose aswell, save reeling it in and getting it covered in cat crap
