Title: Market Research
Post by: Aquaish on January 21, 2009, 09:41:23 am
Hi Guys,

I have 3 questions for which I require a statistical report. The answer's to these questions have already been assessed by a trusted market research site.

However, I would like you guys to answer these questions to the best of your knowledge and in return I can give you original statistics from the org and the results I have achieved via you.

And please can I request all of you to keep the topic relevant to the questions as i'm only interested in the answers for the following three questions to verify my research. I have made this multiple choice so it's quicker to answer as well as providing more sustainable data.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Questions:

1. How much would you charge to clean FRONT & BACK windows of a 3 bed house (standard size & no garage) in N/E/S or W London? (Applies to window cleaners in London only)

a. £6 to £9
b. £10 to £13
c. £14 to £17
d. £18 or £22
e. £23 or More

2. Do you think there is MORE or LESS work in the window cleaning business than there was 5 years ago in the UK and Why? (Applies to all window cleaners in the UK)

a. More   b. Less

(& Why?)

3. Which method of cleaning do your CLIENTS prefer? (Applies to all window cleaners in the UK)

a. Traditional way
b. The WFP system
c. Don't care as long as they are clean?

I will let you know the output of this application after your feedback

Thanks again

Aquaish

Spot on Chris.  I have been mulling over whether to make this public or not for some time. I will use this opportunity to tell you all that many people get a lot of info about earnings from here. I can vouch for this personally because I am often told this over the telephone.

I am very often asked about earning potential for new window cleaners with people quoting figures they have read here. In the current economic climate my advice is to keep any reference to earnings very quiet.

2 years down the line im still in debt for what i paid out for equipment, van, insurances etc etc etc.., and i survive on my g/fs extra job income..

It could be a well paid career, but you have to work bloody hard at it. Im still working on it.

So all those newbies, or thinking of setting up - yeah think hard, its not easy. (cleaning windows is a piece of pee) but the rest isn't.

relating to the subject

2 - more - why, because there are more houses & buildings than there were 5 years ago.

3 -  c - dont care so long as they are clean.

I think Andrew is basing this on Window Cleaners like us and not sellers, in the search bar type your area, youll pretty mutch guarentee that someone in your area has asked a question, click on there profile and youll see when they last signed in and i bet its recent but they never post just sit back and see what you got to say.

Andrew I can understand not giving out private information that’s pertains to your own business.

But earnings mean absolutely nothing, suppliers like you Andrew would use potential earnings as a sales tool, all the information is already out there, any job and PLC companies where you can request a set of accounts or find the wage.

I have said this before there is no mystery about earnings, apart from a lack of understanding and fear.

Point taken however what I get as a supplier is a lot of calls from people who have seen posts on here quoting earning figures. Now, as a supplier I COULD use them as a sales tool. May I ask what you would do Ewan?

I can tell the forum that there a great number of new starters from all walks of life. I for one wouldn't be putting posts on here quoting earnings. Nor would I be posting pics of buildings asking how much to clean this?

My thoughts exactly a pic goes up then someone pipes up with something like "i do one just like that for £100 - takes me half an hour!" Then of course the braggers come on who just can't help themselves - brilliant! Just splash your earnings all over the internet why don't you?

Unfortunately the honest ones or the guys who are struggling just get ridiculed so don't tend to post that often.

the next billy bullsitter says " i would get out of bed for that, its got to be 125 quid "

i for one couldn't give a monkeys what someone else earns because it has no effect on my life cause what i earn pays my bills not someones else word of mouth.
