can anyone tell me on the flipper where its yellow theres a arrow pointing to a small hole whats this for ?

My guess is that you could pin it in the straight position?

thats what i thought but then it would just be a squeege wouldnt it ?

Yup, maybe if you were poling from the side it might be the only way to stop it flopping other than tightening the nut up.
