I have got 2 different types of membranes in my RO unit.
The Purefreedom membranes product water is 20ppm whilst the RO Man's membrane produces water with a TDS of 6. The input water is 310.
Get what you pay for. I guess.
RO Mans are meant to be TFCs whereas PureFreedom dont say on their site, not that I can see.

same here:
but have 470+ tds purefreedon out at 13 unpumped 7 pumped
ro-man 2000 9tds unpumped and not sure about pumped as I blew it up ::)
-
Its quite a difference though isnt it, between 6ppm and 20. Wondering whether I should bin the Purefreedom ones and get two RO Man ones to save on resin.
20ppm isnt within the 95% rejection range, it works out at 93% !!
Crud.

Maybe you haven't seated the Purefreedom membrane correctly.
Just a thought ;D

I was thinking that, think Ill go take a lookie, take it out and refit.

I have experienced the same thing the last lot of membranes from ro-man produced 10ppm before di the ones i have just fitted from pure freedom only last week produce it at 20ppm before di.

Thanks for that. At least it isnt me ;D

it took about 2 weeks for the tds to drop on my purefreedom membrane, but I have to be fair I have quite high pure/drain it seemed to drop after this time.
-
Ian, are you saying I could expect in time for it to drop on the pureFreedom one?

Membrane rejection will be affected by the incoming water tempreture.
The TDS reading will also vary depending of what contaminants the Total Disolved Solids is made up of, you cannot compaire one quality membrane against another in a different area because of the many variables involved.

there are also variables that will be the same Glyn

All conditions are exactly the same glyn, the two membranes are in the same RO unit.

If you have three membranes and check the tds of each one their will always be some variation.

thats right Glyn, but sometimes the high tds at the start takes time to drop and this is right ;)
