Hope the mods don't mind me posting this.I am trying to raise money for Cancer Research Uk in memory of my mates wife who sadly lost her fight against cancer in October 2004. I have entered the Great North Run which is run in September this year any donations will be greatly received.Anyone who knows me will know I won't be finishing in a fast time I'm aiming for the two and half hour mark might even do it in fancy dress.Donations can be made online

2 1/2 hours not bad for a non runner. Mike my Pb for the half marathon run over an undulating course 18 years ago at the age of 41 is 1hr 14min. Steve I'll gladly put a few bob in, I might even run myself as a warm up to the Snowdon Marathon in October - now thats one to do!
Dave.

dave stop bragging ;) you're not the only one whose done the snowdon marathon i did it 94. we stayed at the hotel where it finished and had a night on the beer. I still finished it in under 3.40 and I was spewing up on the way up to the start 8)

Steve,
Best of luck, a good cause, I think many of us will have been affected in the past, and no doubt in the future, though losing someone to cancer
-
Good luck with the run for a very worthy cause.
Have done sponsored 1 mile swim for Cancer Research and have monthly DD running now, this affects everyone somehow.

Good on ya Steve :) we'll be more than happy to sponsor you, I lost my grandad a few years ago to stomach cancer and a friend from my school days died only a couple of months back, he was only 29!!

Good luck Steve, and well done for your initiative.
I too think you should dress up. What about going as a carpet cleaner in your summer gear ie trainers, shorts and a monogramed polo shirt. Oh, and carrying one of those drag wands as seen on the Chemspec stand at the NEC. I reckon they only weigh about 20kg :o
Safe and happy jogging :)
