Clean It Up

I cleaned about 300sqm of carpet tiles today in an office. It was all hallways about 2m wide.
Used texatherm and cleaned up a treat but theres a lot of bending changing pads and moving the tank etc.
I was thinking of a walkbehind extractor the type CFR sell or encapsulation as the yanks call it. It would seem to me these two systems would be quicker and easier.
Any one had experience of the two above systems or see any pros and cons.
thanks

Mark,
I see your point but a walk behind extractor is HWE isnt it and encapsulation is just shampoo. The tex system does a very good job on low profiles doesnt it, so do you really want to be changing to a different system. I think your answer is to try and manage what you have already got more efficiently.

What about a bucket boy/her train them correctly you’ll be in and out in no time and no you can’t have Kevin as still in training. :-[ :-[
Just doing some sums 300sqm @ say £2.50 = £750 or at .90 = £270 ether way less than a days work! But do agree these lm system takes out on your back ;D ;D

I was just thinking of how to clean really well but really quickly ie. 100sqm per hour or more.
The CFR recycles the water so can clean large areas without filling but may not be so good on carpet tiles.
The yanks are big into the shampoo system and all you need is a cimex with a tank feed.
Texatherm is good but slow.

Out of interest how long did it take you?
I can quite understand that you want to speed it up, cleaning corridors is as boring as hell and feels like they are never ending.
As mentioned, you could really do with someone helping you doing all your fetching and carrying.
Though from what I have heard CFR is excellent on carpet tiles and very suited to large open spaces where you can just walk up and down behind it without having anything in your way or any nooks to get into.

Hi Mark
Walk behind machines are actually no quicker they normally have a wider pick up but most floors are uneven therefore you need to make extra passes, also the manoeuvrablity of walk behinds can be awkward, they are also much heavier than standard machines.
For speed and finish Super pads will enable completion of between 160 and 200 meters an hour.
Hope this helps
Best regards Nick

out of interest. how many pads did you get through? and how much hasle is the washing them put after?
i've been looking into the very same problem recently. Check my recent posts.
i've made a choice of system for what i need i for. might not be everyones choice but pm me if you'd like a chat.
cheers jim

Took me 5 hours including set-up and down, no prevac as the customer did it and no furniture to move. Took a 20 min lunch.
Jim - what system do you use?
Nick - bring your pads on the 31st and show me how they work and I may just buy them.
Ive 30 pads and reckon I used most of them. I wash them in a seperate machine I have. This is only a hassle if you need all of them the next day.

i mostly use a truckmount but i've got some large jobs to do that are all low profile carpet and i have been checking out other options. because i'll need to do 1 to 2000 sq/m at a time the hasle of washing the pads was not practical so when i have time i'm of up the road to get a charlie pad system from nick. i'm also thinking about a daul wand truckmount to help things along. they are a bit pricey though.

Get a industrial washing machine say for £1000 (just a guess) and a 100 pads £1000 or so. A lot less than a new truckmount.
Or wash them at the cleaners.
I'm interested in the Cpad system too but need convincing. Hopefully Nick can do this on 31st.

Charlie pads and Micro splitters are 2 products that really compliment one another, the nature of MS how they shatter the soil binders and the absorbant charlie pad work very well together, well worth a look especially when you consider start up cost.

Nail on the head start up costs, never had a compliant.

The CFR recycles the water; think they may have changed direction

Hi,
I use the charlie pads for all low profile/carpet tiles with microsplitters, nothing I have tried matches the speed or results.
Dont wait until the 31st to get them, order them and start using them you will not look back.
