Title: What machine / system to buy
Post by: Gary M on January 19, 2009, 12:16:03 pm
Hi, I currently run a wood floor restoration business and looking to expand my services to carpet cleaning. There is alot of technology and products and would be very grateful on any advice given (Apart from don't do it) If you were just starting out, where would you start?

Hi and welcome to Clea It Up

I would start with training.
There are number of course, some are linked to a manufacturer of cleaning products so you would expect a bias, but they get spoken well of.
An independant trainng is via the National Carpet Cleaners Association www.ncca.co.uk

go to their website and click on the "training" button.
there is a course starting a week on Friday for 2 days (fri & sat)
then next one is in April.

you will get the chance to try different systems as well as being taught by 2 top notch carpet cleaners.

Hi Joe, thanks for that I will book a course asap. Have you heard about a system called 'Texatherm' ? It's a combined HWE and Thermal drying system. Thanks Gary

Yes, a guy on here has one and has posted a bit about it recently ie this year.
Do a searchfrom the top of the page for Texaterm and see what pops up.
Other then that either he will post soon or somone else will that can find it quicker then me.

but there is loads on info search "texatherm"

I used to have the texatherm bonnet system
but for carpet cleaning and upholstery you really do need hot water extraction as your main machine.
