Ive noticed that some people ask for link exchanges, they add you to theres and you do the same but then a few weeks or months when there ranking has gone up there removing your link so check the people youve swapped with still have you.

why would people do this ? ? ? ?  surely its a accident ? ? ?  they redesign the site

A one way link is more powerful, so it does happen.

so if site A links to site B

then site B removes link its more powerfull for site B
