Title: do i need a solicitor to help with invoice terms

hi do i need a solicitor to help sort my invoice terms  legally?   i need to know what to put on them.

do you guys just put 28 days or 14 days.?  how do you know what to put on your invoices so your covered if the company does not pay up?

does anyone just ask for cheque on completion of work>  ???  or give 14 days payment terms?

You can put down what you want they will still pay you when they want to

PAYMENT IN FULL IS DUE WITHIN 14 DAYS FROM INVOICE DATE. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM STATUTORY INTEREST AT 8 % ABOVE THE BANK OF ENGLAND BASE RATE AT THE DATE THE DEBT BECOMES OVERDUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATE PAYMENT OF COMMERCIAL DEBTS. (INTEREST ACT 1998)

thats on all my invoices thats my terms..............but as BDCS says you can put what you want but most will take no notice most of my customers pay on 30 days some on 60 days but are not my customer for long  ;) ;)
