Title: DRIVEWAY CLEANING EQUIPMENT HIRE
Post by: martyn8 on January 14, 2009, 07:29:15 pm
hi new here, ive searched on this forum but to no joy, has anybody on this forum ever hired fsc and pressure washer,(cant afford to buy)want to know roughly how much it will cost me,best hire-shop etc.
want to start a cleaning business thought might start with drives/patios then build up to doing conservatories and guttering when i can afford the equip (omnivac) and have more experience, got a bit of experience with paving, mate runs his own paving company and i labour for him now and then no expert but get the gist of it,one of the lads has been showing me how to do repairs etc.
anyway thought might start off with something i can get help with and their seems a lot of work out there, thought i do a few targeted ddorstep calls backed up with some leaflets or business cards,
sorry for long post, lol, any info/advice be really appreciated thanks in advance

Try Brandon Tool Hire, if you set up an account with them you'll get discount upto 30 to 40% off. Also the longer you hire equipment the cheaper it will be.

You can buy everything you need to clean a drive and many other things for £3k plus your choice of a van etc, I don't think thats expensive but you can only really earn a living during the summer. I have the drive cleaning as an add on for my other lines.

Not started anything yet. Hoping to start window cleaning, and gutter cleaning, I'll be out door knocking once I get some ladders and cleaning equipment.

The drive way cleaning will come later.

As BDCS says dont think drive way cleaning is a stand alone business, need other sources of income.

Go for the diy route, I did. IBC, RO, Pump then thats the garage done. In the van - tank or 600l ibc baffled with pipe, pump, Di vessel, hose reel, hose and a pole. Less than a grand and better than hitting the ground

i thought if got a few drives to do with hire equipment and re-infest money into buying equip bit by bit would be best way to go,guessing more profit on drives (wish i had money to get basics but not at moment) thanks for input

Borrow it - it'll cost say £100/ month, to hire will cost say £85 per drive which will have to be worked into the price, so if you clean 2 drives a week you'll be able to pay the loan off at the end of the summer - easily.

i was in your position last year. so bought a 4500 psi machine off ebay for 400 quid and a fsc from a local supplier but foind out that a turbo nozzle was just as good for small jobs. got me going and works brilliant. know it will not last forever but am up and running and more than made my money back and will invest later in a honda model. my mate bought one for his business and used it 5 days a week for 2 years and still going strong.
