Title: replacement stock for superlite brush
Post by: mark dew on January 11, 2009, 09:39:55 pm
Does anywhere sell the stock that the pole screws into on the sl brush.
Mine broke and am ideally hoping a supermarket or somewhere local sells a similar brush i can cannibalise.
I need this for tomorrow. If i can't find it is back to the vikan until i can get sorted. Alex, do you sell these if i can't find one locally asap?

HI Mark,

Did you not get my email that I sent to you at 7.30 am Saturday morning in reply to your query?

In it I said that we would pop a free replacement in the post to you first thing Monday. When I am back on my main computer I will re-send it. I also gave you some details for pole repairs.

B & Q sell an outdoor broom that has a red/green stock costs about £3.45 and would screw on to the back of the brush stock. It would certainly keep you on the road.

Hiya alex, am glad you noticed this. No i didn't receive that email. I have checked trash and spam but not in there either.
Just checked again and still can't find.

As for the pole repair, i followed jeff brimble's advice and cut the end off and re-pushed it through the existing section and glued it up using a double epoxy resin. It is 18 inches shorter but that is no problem.
The job is a good un i think.  ;D
Will know tomorrow.

I was hoping to pick up a cheap brush that had the same stock that i could unscrew and put on. I appreciate the replacement though.
Would still like to get a new stock for this brush as it is too good to sit there doing nothing.
thanks

Most stock super market brushes will fit if most screw threads if padded out with a few turns of pvc tape and bed in, Addis splay brushes are now stocked in Dunhelm mill. £2.99 and some asda/homebase  stores. But you have to drill your own holes.
