gave last week up as a bad job because of everything still frozen.
those on here that did work looks like gambled with damaging equipment which i cannot afford to do. anyway looked on met weeather this morning heavy rain is back for monday but seems fine rest of week about 8 degrees. seems a long time since that warm.isn,t it nice to be back to normal. i think winter came early this time and hopefully won,t come back till next year.
things i have learnt
1. try to save for a rainy (i mean freezy day)
2. do not try and wrap up your ro just bring it inside.
3. make sure the pump is empty or even put antifreeze through it.
4. need a hose from my ibc to my tank that i can take in ,perhaps on a reel and not permantly set up .
5. put my heater in my trailer at night not just in morning and set it so nothing freezes.
anyone got anything else to add.

Yes Go Trade ;D

1. Continue to squirral away some nuts in the summer.
2. Build my new wfp housing in the shed and build it so all hoses can be drained from 1 point.
3. Build it all using good quality insulation and ensure that an adaquate heating/thermostat system is used.
4. Build a dosing system for the methanol mixing.
5. Look at DIY hot this year.

good points karygate.
All my stuff froze ibc transfer etc, the lot.
I had to make my water on the van and leave it running overnight.
took pump and reel in at night, used the hot bypass to get things going in the morning.
As you point out there has to be a better way.

Almost forgot, unscrewed drain plug and disconnected heater every night. Bet there were plenty who didn't. If i'm honest i did expect some of the l5 boys to have problems.

i forgot to drain my l5 over the xmas/new year period, went to use it last week and the water intake coupling had cracked. i had a heater in the van on the colder nights as well.
ordered a new part from ges in the usa, $25 and 4-6 days postage. so not too bad in the end, but lesson learnt.
