Get a shorter pole for downstairs,.. if I spend 1 minute per window (Including rinsing) thats it,.. for regular work anyway. First cleans take longer.

About a minute on a standard window...
Try and hold your pole horizontaly when doing downstairs windows,,...How long is your pole when at min length?

Do the maths.
At 4 minutes a window and say there are 10 on a semi. 40 minutes for a £10 semi? :o
Instead of spending 4 minutes, next time you clean spend a cople of mins having a look around the job and see how dirty/clean the windows are still from last time.
A minute per window seems to be about my average. Some are done in half that time and some take longer.

Wow! that is a heluva long time on a window :o Even done trad, a standard window should take no more than 90 seconds, done WFP on a repeat clean you should be about 30 seconds.
I rarely rinse, I consider it to be washing and rinsing al in one go, it would be different if I just used a wet brush to scrub the window, then I would have to rinse, but there is a continual flow of fresh, clean water flowing through the brush at al times....though I do rinse off the glass depending on circumstances!!
My partner works with me, and she mostly rinses off the glass, so I guess it really comes down to your own preference, technique /method.
My own flowrate is about a litre per minute.
Time taken on a first time clean, especially if the windows are really grimy can take 4 or 5 times longer with a cold water system, probably not so long with a hot water one (never used one so I don't know for sure)

With hot on regular cleans you just need to flash over rinsing on,people spending 2 minutes on a window need to re think you don`t need anywhere near that long on a window. In some cases you can do the whole front of a house in 5 minutes.
