Could the Wagtail be used effectively in preference to wfp system.
If you can still operate to 1st floor level from the ground then what would the advantage be for wfp. Speed - perhaps, but maybe not when you take into account filling barrells/loading/unloading/etc. I've used van mount wfp but not keen for domestic work. I presently use trolley system but find it hard work (or maybe i'm just getting old)

Do you not find you earn more with the pole compared to trad?
Because I did dramatically. Cant you put the extra you earn to one side and then in time use that to invest in a van-mount if your finding barrels hard work?

You would struggle to clean the frames but if you could master the art i don't see why it couldn't be done. You would need to be very good to avoid detailing.

Still dont fancy van mount for domestic. Take the point though re frames & actually mastering the wagtail at height.

looks easy on the videos but the guy has probably done it for years. Looks like he misses a fair bit at the top?

This is a joke yeah wagtail better than WFP,what`s a wagtail like in these freezing conditions i`ll tell you it`s not useable the same as a normal squeeggee.

i use the same method but with an unger swivel-lock i find it saves alot of time especially on larger shop windows and for detailing just put the scrim om the end of the pole

I agree there good for shops and insides but i wouldn`t use it all the time and i would never compare it to WFP.

But just imagine if it was adequate, there would be some red faces from the guys spending three grand on a heater alone would you not think? Interesting. ;D

I agree there good for shops and insides but i wouldn`t use it all the time and i would never compare it to WFP.
The wagtail is a very good tool in the arsenal, but where wfp works use it as its faster. Speed and good results = more money per hour.

Actually the Wagtail is the best trad tool when it's freezing, the blade takes the water off just as it's gone on, so has less time to freeze.

But think, £30,000 or £30? you could excuse it for not being quite so good?

That`s only true in some cases,i clothed just a few small panes on a shop door this morning and the damp from the cloth was freezing straight away.If the air temp is to cold it`ll almost freeze your breath let alone the wet from a wagtail.

Great if you just clean shops or short shopping centers but I find I struggle a bit with the wagtail over 14-15 feet. I end up detailing a bit more, which takes time and thats on big panes. On domestic windows one window would take 15 mins.
Like I said its a very good tool as long as you consider it a tool and not the whole solution you'll never fail to make money.

when i started work this morning 5 minutes working and my jets had frozen up got my large unger pole out and my wagtail, job done no probs 8)
the wagtail is the best bit of trad kit ive ever come accross, i have now bought a 6" for doing georgian windows inside

its not a case wfp vs wagtail i believe every tool has its purpose you need different tools for different work
the wagtail is not suited for every job neither is wfp
ive found the wagtail is better than any other squeegy and also on some downstairs faster than wfp and ideal for inside work
ive found wfp is better for getting over conservatories and doing leaded and georgian windows
each to their own

I was having a conversation on the phone yesterday with another window-cleaner. I was saying that you cant do a decent job with one of these dodgy load of bits of tat ;D
That bloke on that vid did a good job didnt he!
Impressed with that, wish Id seen that before I got me WFP ;D
