If i somehow found a way of running a emersion element of my battery (i aint no sparky, so not sure if i can be done) and then fitted into the top of my tank. would it mess around with my tds? I thought not as the water is 000 already?

It would take more than a battery to sort your water temp out powering an element.

you could heat it up over night from your mains.

Id say one of the main reasons electrically powered heaters havent taken off in this job is the running cost. To heat 400/500 litres of water to 50 °C would cost a packet!!

You can buy 12v immersion heater elements ;)

I would just be happy for the watr to reach the windows , not botherd about the hot cleaning power but just to get up the pipe and onto the windows would suit me

I like the idea of heated water via battery/mains. It the safest option by far.
Unfortunately, as already mentioned our batteries just couldnt take this sort of use.....you'd kill it stone dead in no time!
However, thing are moving along rapidly in the field of battery power/life/weight (see Toyota and Honda for examples).....I dont think it'll be too long before we have 'leisure batteries' able to run this type of set up.

thats the one i see, i dont want it for really for the purpose of (ive got a hot water system) just to get me out of trouble in these cold times. The mains option is ideal as ive got a plug socket in the back gdn.

It would take forever to heat a decent amount of water and even then it wouldn`t stay that hot even when insulated.
