SOME of my custies have an abusive relationship with us and i have decided after years of being messed around p off and cheated by rude idiotic and downright ignorent custies to develop an anti doormat policy with effect from now!!!!!!!!
i will have in the van a letter ;to be used when you have allowed them their third strike or sooner for an instant dismisal warrents it
it will go something like this with check boxes you can tick off
no particular order
i regret to inform you that our proffesional relationship has broken down because of the following reasons....
you have lost trust in our standard of work manship.
you have failed to settle our invoices.
you have abused a member of staff.
made inapropiate racist/homophobic /sexist comments.
access /parking difficulties/
i belive there is an issue with unsafe working conditions.
we have made visits only to be asked to return later or to come back in x months time
abuse/ verbal physical.
your job does not fit our coustomer profile
or i just dont like you
price too low / refused reasonable increase/no increase
for x years
can all the fam suggest any more ideas.
what do ya all think ? come on all of you wished instead of telling the to f off you had a letter to give em like the above that would be both proffesional and satifiying at the same time.
-

Why bother,just don't go back......................simple.

Give yourself a bad reputation for dumping customers and news travels fast. Better to be diplomatic and drop bad customers politely.
-
I've had customers that were really rude for no reason, just nasty people,I also do their neighbours and let their neighbours know what they are like and why I don't do them anymore and now their windows are filthy and they can't get a WC,.........ah well......too bad! ;D
-
anti doormat policy working well gave two the push last week after months of low level snide abuse and one made an outragous comment about us all being part time burglars good riddence
-
Why bother mate - if a customer pes me off that much i just tell them to their face but without being too rude. If they care they usually apologise - they don't you just ell them where to go.
-
i do bother i personaly get mad as hell if i am insulted for nothing little fella syndrome and find my self getting red mist and end up saying things that arnt good letter works for me

That would make me so angry - "part-time" indeed! ;)

Just dont go back, what do you think theyll do with a letter? Rip it up and put it in bin, or probably embarrass you and show neighbours and friends.
Even id find that funny if a friend showed me what the window cleaner had left.
Seriously, just move on. Dont go back.

Hi Tony.
I have to agree with slash and colt. (don't go back)
I use to think about writing letters and have left notes to people.
It only makes a bad situation worse.
Just walk away.
Done this to a couple of messers, 1 dumped a year ago another 3 months ago.
both custy's back on board, just explained the problem to them one couldn't post a cheque; even though she lived 50 yards from a post box ::) (now she is internet transfer).
Other one gave me a couple of not today's (so told her politely, i can't have that)
So walk away; once they've been missed out they usually have to know why and tell them as politely as possible.
some will go off in a huff and slam their doors; a few will realise the error of their ways.
As someone said on here always leave the door open; it's upto the cust to slam it shut.
But take comfort in the fact that they will need their windows cleaned before you need their money ;D

My anti-doormat policy is to walk away and not go back.
It may seem unprofessional, but I have to be seriously miffed to do it, and I would always walk away rather than lose my cool. Have met some of these ex-custards when I have continued to do their neighbours windows, but never, ever has one of them asked me to my face why.
The main cause of me walking away are persistent messing about over paying. I get on with most people, so personality clashes don't figure at all here.
