Title: Damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: Aquakleen Restoration Services on December 30, 2008, 11:28:59 am
Hi all,

My leafleter got caught delivering my leaflets on the cheap (£10 per 1000) and lost his boss a contract with the local council so I am not going to have to find a new leafleting firm. This is a pi$$er as my leafleter only delivered to private estates with big houses for me. Now I cannot be so choosey!

The lady from Amaro rung me and told me they can do me a deal for £20 per 1000 which I don't think is bad to be honest. Maybe that's not inc of VAT though.
Has anyone used them before?

Happy new year everyone!!
John

It's crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside-Armadilos! :)

The price of delivery means pretty much nothing, until you have some idea of response.

How many other leaflets will they deliver at same time, will they get delivered? etc.

I would test 10k and see what happens- January as well, if you get 5-6 you are doing well. Do a few months to same area.

or find another scivvey.

Amaro are a Newcastle based leaflet distribution company, the last time I spoke to them, probably about 18 months ago, they were quoting me £45/1000 for a 50,000 drop and that was not solo, £20 is a very good price.

just done a google. no amaro but lots of others
Leaflet Distribution UK
www.mailboxnationwide.com
www.FrontDoorMarketing.co.uk
www.dbslimited.co.uk

gonna give them a ring tomorrow, see what prices they all have.
must admit i'm sceptical about them all but what can ya do other than do them ya self, and thats a ball ache, if your delivering leaflets your not earning money, if you deliver a load and get booked up youve no time to deliver anymore, talk about catch 22.

anyway, i need to start getting leaflets out, if there too dear i'm either going with royal mail, or advertising for a distributer in the local paper, like a part timer, retired guy would be good, 3000 a week for £60 - £80, think thats fair

if you look at the maths of leaflet distribution you can see the sense of employing some one.

average job price £80

pay someone £200/week

so he needs to get 3 jobs a week to make sure you are not out of pocket.

leaflet response rate @ 1.5 jobs from 1000 leaflets so he needs to put out 3k leaflets.

these are very Conservative amounts , going solo you will get a much better response.

all it takes is the bottle to pay some one that £200 for 6 weeks then you'll see the results

on average i'd say 2 a minute, so 120 an hour, a good 6 hour day would be 720.
so 4 days would hit the 3k mark, it does depend on where your delivering though, terraced houses would easily be 6 a minute, where as long drives detached would prob be only 1. maybe an average might be 3 a minute but on a standard semi with car length drive, you'd have to motor.
these are  slighlty educated guesses from me so go easy with any disagreements.

Sounds right  :)

Its a hard boring job delivering so might have to get him to do 500 per day  ???

Thats what am going to try ::)

how much you gonna pay clinton.

you need to pay enough so they don't dump them in the river but as little to make sure its profitable.
tough call.

i'm thinking £60 to £80 for 3k, but i'm not sure that'll be enough. but anymore and your into paying proffesional leafleters anyway. surely some retired guy, who's lost his wife family left home.and needs the exercise, will welcome a shifty back hander of £80 to top up his pension.

or maybe not, dya know, i'm waffling and have no idea. (yeah yeah, whats new) ;D

anyone else have some stats we could mull over on this subject.

Think the del companys charge about thirty pounds inc vat for a thousand ::)

Might be better idea to pay for 500 as wont take that long and they wont get boerd with it.

Am going to pay about 25 for a thousand.

Why not get up with the lark and deliver 200 per day. You'd be amazed how many jobs you get from 200 leaflets when you deliver them yourself!!

I average 5 per 1k on leaflets if I deliver them myself.

Stick your ipod on and as Nike say... "Just do it"

If not then please bear in mind that a good number of your leaflets will end up in skips, ditches and be pushed through letterboxes 5 at at a time.

if you do persist with paying some "Company" then I look forward to reading posts such as this for years to come. THERE IS NO EASY ANSWER BUT THERE IS A SIMPLE ONE.

you have a good point, how long do 1000 take you

1k takes me 5 days as I distribute 200 per day.

I deliver to the same houses approx every 2 months and 200 will take on average 1.5 hrs.

Bought Terrace/council houses atm are coming into their own. Think about it.... Most people who live in terrace houses are over 50 and tend to have carpets instead of wooden/laminate floors.

They will have usually bought their house about 15-20 years ago for approx 20k and will now own their house ourtright.

Look for gnomes in a freshly manicured garden with double glazing and a "Private" front door.
