yes.
thats right.
i've joined the "you look a right t1t" brigade with my blue tooth head set.
a set for your head.
i'll never miss a call again as it beeps in your ear when you get a call.
missed far to many calls in 08 so looking a t1t will be worth it, should pay for itself in the first week i reckon.
derek
ps, set up took all of 20 seconds.
-
blue tooth head set ! i much rather have it fitted in van then you dont have to look like a wally ;D
-
its for when i'm actually cleaning susan. i can't hear my phone then, and cos i wear baggy clothes i can't feel it vibrate, problem solved,
wally it is.
derek
ps... nope! its gone.
-
I use a ring tone which is very piercing ("Sinus" on my Sony Ericsson), I never miss a call, even when I'm working with the machine in close proximity.
Whatever you have thought in the past when you've seen someone with one of those things stuck in their shell like Derek, that's what people will think when they see you wearing one....
To qualify wearing a blue tooth head set you must wear a bum bag and drive a taxi....
I'm only kidding you Derek, I'm just jealous!
-
Derek
Thats the good thing why i have long hair ;D
Well i got mine a few months ago and they are handy and least you wont lmiss many calls.
Trouble is it sounds like your talking through a tin can ;D
-
The huge bonus to looking a wally is never missing a call and NOT BEING FINED FOR USING A MOBILE WHILE DRIVING.
Most of them have decent sound quality, some will go straight through without having to tap, they are easy to activate / deactivate when driving / out of vehicle.
You only look a wally with the stupid "boom" type mike, some are barely noticable.
Been without mine for a few days, thanks to one of our pups chewing it up, getting another tomorrow
-
pups that chew blue tooth, make lovely hat with built in mic and speakers. ;D
derek

Barely big enough to make a Davy Crocket !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bet that's got some wondering!
-
Clinton, having long hair isn't an option for me! :(
I did wonder about growing a mullet... But I reckon I'd look like Terry Nutkins ;D ;D
-
Colin
;D
Carlton care
David crocket ;D
Or a deputy dog :D
-
Lovejoy with a dish on his head ;)
-
Clinton
You're far too young to know about Davy Crocket and his mad hat. Think it was raccoon skin complete with tail.
-
;D
I have seen it on an old cowboy film ???
-
What about Daniel Boone? I feel old!
Shaun with the poos
PS My bottom feels like Billy's, oooo I couldn't be gay ouch!
-
Shaun
You might have got the sickness bug thats going aroung ???
One of my clients dog had it and had to clean carpt for them yesterday ::)
Whos billy ???
-
Had one, in fact still got it, and yes Id rather miss a call than wear it! Customers obvious reaction to it was unimpressive to say the least.
Dave.
-
derek, i got a blue tooth as soon as they came out, my current one is a jabra, so light you don't know you have it on and unlike the wallies who 'don't like them 'cause they look silly' i can talk on the thing while still working, none of that trying to balance the phone on your shoulder or stopping work and of course the main point is the driving, who would want a fine and 3 points for the sake of a £30 bluetooth?
colin
-
must admit colin.
i'm quite looking forward to wearing it tomorrow.
i may look a plonker, but a professional plonker with hopefully, a bit more money in my pocket by the end of the year thanks to no phone calls missed.
its not like i'm gonna wear it in the pub or going shopping. or worse still in the sack,
the wife "talk dirty to me darling"
me (on the phone)"really dirty love, don't worry i have a powerful wand that will do the job"
the wife, "oh yes darling more more" ;D

Colin
I have got the jaba blue tooth and your right there so light you forget its there :)
And its hidden behind my long hair :D
-
trouble is.
if people can see it they think your a nob but if its hidden they think your a looney talking to yourself.
derek
-
Hm the Jabra hands free!
Is there any other, for years I've had the little fellow but can anyone tell why oh why do folks wear them in their right ears so when the window is wound down whilst driving it picks up all the road noise :-[
Why not the left ear where its inside the cab of the vehicle! Then to passing motorists you only look a clown by the way you drive. ;D
-
good thinking dave. switching it over as we type.
ive got a nokia head set, wish i'd got the jabra now, but i'm sure the nokia's fine.

-
Dave
Your right there as mine is in my left ear.
Supose i do it with the phone too ::)
Thankfully my long hair covers mine but trouble is then people think am talking to myself :D
-
Did you know that not only can people be right or left handed but you can also be right or left footed (fairly obviously) but also right or left eyed and right or left eared!
And some people can be all over the place :o
-
And a lot of that's down to whether you are left or right brain dominant and whether you dress to the left or right. ;D
-
I have far better hearing in my right ear as my wife lays to the left in bed!
Shaun
-
The ear pieces can be worn in either ear, I had my Abra destroyed by one of our pups and just got a Samsung today which is compatable with all cell phones £17.
The road noise is never an issue, just as being close to a loud machine is not a problem.
The two main points about having an earpiece, is that, you need never miss a call.
You will avoid the problem of getting points on your licence.
-
Used to do work for a company that developed NCT - noise cancellation for military throat mikes.
Originally they were for pilots but filtered down to civie applications. Most headsets now come with this technology, recognise voice and filter everything else out. Which is handy. :)
-
Dave i wear it in the right ear because my car is a corvett stingray as in left hand drive ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Smart arse Tony ;D
I wonder were Ken wears his when he's on his bike? ::)
-
;D
-
lost it allready, DOH!!!!!!!
or my 2 year old has had it ::)
derek
-
Got through 4 in 2008 due to breakages/failing and losing them.
-
derek, good excuse to buy a jabra, they go behind the ear, you won't lose that!!
if you buy one from a shop say carphonewarehouse, pick the 'longer' one, the latest one is shorter, not such a good voice pickup for our noisy work, i gave my new one to the wife and bought another longer version which is the older style but still great,
colin
-
you have'nt got the model number by any chance colin.
was gonna get a jabra as the nokia one kept dangling off my ear when i looked left and right in the van, it even fellout when i bent down to check someones carpet backing, looked even more of a plonker. :-[
