-
i draw the line when iv had too much to drink and cant drive
-
fair point mike ;D ;D ;D
-
Or the wife has promised me an early night.... ;D
-
Charlie loves it. Probably could'nt wait to get out the house with all those screaming girls eh Charlie?
-
to true pete, you can add to that "screaming wife" ;D
-
I actually forgot I'd agreed to do a small job this morning, until the phone rang. I'm happy to work on the days between Christmas and New Year..............something to do with inlawitis.
-
;D
-
But its not between yet, its still Christmas. A mobile car valeter spent around 5 hours today doing 2 cars on the drive at a nieghbours house, some guys must be desperate.
Dave.
-
Ain't Chrismas here, that was yesterday. Football, horseracing, shops open, etc, today. Christmas has left the building !
To be working like the valeter, does sound a bit desperate, but he probably doesn't earn that much, so to him it's just another day.
I get bored hanging about the house, why else would I be on here ?
-
what you need is a wii fit, great fun, just got the high score on beginner, heading the football, my 12 year old is trying to get the high score back, he's got no chance, only missed 2 balls.
back of the net.
1 up for the oldies.

Got one last year Derek.....................said my 19 year old son was 49, said I, at 63 was 33, so I quit while I was winning.
They're really good, but I reckon they've caused a lot of damage to light fittings, etc.
-
Have not used ours yet :o
Just used the wii mario game and the wii starter games ;D and sports ;D
-
charli, how much did you charge on boxing day??
-
Just had a call from a regular and there dog has had an accident ::)
Going out to do the job in an hour ???
-
terry, was at the customers home for about 40 min's, i have to say though that it is a regular customer & i do take into account the amount of work that i recieve from the foresaid, & it was 10 min's from my home... i charged her £48- & she said to me are you sure that's enough? she was very grateful.... generally i charge about £54- but that depends on location & time... time taken; flushing the stain out with cold water, 25 min's of that time was allowing for the enz-out to do its business, flushing out again & then giving it a skim with a bonnet.... back in van = 40 min's!!! regards charlie :)
-
and i almost forgot! a light spray with NI712 Orange.....
-
My BMI was 22 apparently that's what an athelete should be!
Could be the poo's though, I dare not do games on it just incase :o

Ryan
-
no thanks ryan
did ju jitsu for 2 years, rough school, tore a shoulder muscle, got knocked un concious twice, and had numerous other none life threatening injurys, i'm getting a bit old for it now, my body building days have fcked my joints up, i click when i walk. i'll stick with the wii and a mild jog on me treader.
derek
-
MMA like Derek says not to hot for fitness.
However a lot of the pretend MA are excellent for all round fitness.
Derek try kettlebells if your joints are fckd.
-
Kung Fu for over twenty years kept me very fit, Wing Chun / Lau Gar / J K D, only stopped at 59 following a hip operation. REAL Tai Chi is also very good.
The MMA guys can do 5 minute rounds.......................have any of you tried Full Contact for just 60 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Funnily enough Rob I have just installed a Mook Jong in the back bedroom which I'll be training on to further my WC and Kapap which is an Isreali system. Us weedy guys need to be prepared. ;)
I did Lau Gar with a guy called Neville Wray for a couple of years but it's semi contact soft poo like TKD
I spare with very good groundfighters and I have to say you are tottaly stuffed if they get you on the deck and you have no grappling skills.
Anything done full on you are going to pick up injuries, it's just par for the course.
-
didn't realise we had so many keyboard warriors on here, should have seen me last week I typed a real good scrap, it was me against 5 Ninjas, but my hybrid mix of JKD, Kali, MMA & RBSD saw me the victor :D
-
I've got a black belt in origami and karaoke ;)
-
Jim you should start your own system, a mix of both, called Ori-Oki ......even sounds like a martial art :D
-
Hey, pick on someone your own size. ;D
-
;D
-
the only time i don't get injuries through MA is on mortal kombat for the playstation 2, and even then my thumbs hurt. ;D

Derek
Bet you can still do a bit in the gym :)
I try and go 5 times and do cardio and weightlifting for 45 mins 4 times a week :)
Going to go on the wii fit tmor if i can get a go ::)
-
clinton, i did 3 x 3 hour sessions a week, solid for 5 years, 2 hours of heavy weights, using the usual, forced reps, pyramid reps, cheat reps.
pyramid reps my fave, there evil. then an hour of cardio.
started too late in life and the tendons wouldn't take the weight.
miss it like crazy but when your body says no more, you have to listen. :'(

I know what you mean Derek
I trained religiously 3-4 times a week for 10 years, nothing would get in the way of diet and training.
When I met my fiance 2 years ago I realised there is more to life and I gave up completely - funny thing is though I kept the muscle but lost all the bulk, I am more ripped now than I ever was doing all that training. Plus kept getting niggling injuries to shoulders.
Steve
-
shoulders eh!, the delts are easy to damn up, unfortunately steve, i kept my bulk but lost muscle, still got a bit left and not touched a weight for 5 years so its lasted a while.
oh to start again, mind of a 21 year old and the bones of a 60 year old.

Don't knock it unless you tried it, some of those Mook Jongs are real stunnas ;D
In any case I'm not going to argue with you Mike, I've just seen a video of you at your local Dojo.

I powerlifted for years in the RAF and before that was just into body building and posing ;D
I now do a wee bit of swimming and just lift light weights on my shoulders to keep my rotator cuff muscles in check.
However when I was lifting and pushed for time I used to do "Triple dropping".
It's basically 3 sets of 6,8,10 reps etc... one set done immediately after the other lowering the weight on each set.
It may be something similar to pyramiding but it hurt like hell and the burn was better than sex (Well on a par anyway ;))
Im 40 on wed so now I just have sex. Easier on the body!!!
-
PL don't get injured as much cos they don't go max every lift, unlike the bicep pumpers.
As I mentioned earlier kettllebells will give your shoulders a new lease of life. :)
-
pyramidding is start light with a lot of reps, then increase weight and do another set and so on, to the max with each set less one, till your at max weight for about 2 reps, then carry on in reverse lightning the bar and repping out on each set lightened, if that makes sense, this was done mainly on bench press, final set was very light with hands close together to totally damn up ya triceps,
not as good as sex but like will said, not far off.
ok mike, give us the punch line, what are kettle bells?
derek
-
Here it is :)
-
I could show you a Bottoms Up and a Turkish Get Up but what with all the Ladyboy jokes. ::)
-
Go on mike :)
We promise we wont ;D
-
Well anyway, Callouts ;D
-

It's very hard to imagine a "Crab Fat" power lifting! I always thought you buggers just ate Snickers and drank coffee in the NAAFI!
-
New year...............new insights !
-
::)
-
Insights, as in finding out a bit more about the posters on here by reading a little more abour private lives.............
Gets serialised next Autumn on Channel 4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes Colin I was (and still am) partial to the odd coffee and marathon (sorry snickers!!)
But in between the choc and coffee feasts some of us would try to keep in shape.
Ah the NAAFI... brings back memories. I remember when based at Marham in norfolk during the early 90s they would put on a barrel of charly (Carslberg) every wed from 1800 for 30p a pint.
I know it's sad but us singlies (as I was back then) so looked forward to wed that we would fininsh in the mess early, get back to the block, get changed and be sitting in the bar for 1800 exactly.
And then there was the afterburner.....all the dark spirits in a half pint glass with pineapple juice and crushed ice. Good idea at the time.
Sorry im waffling
-
I remmember labats larger fro the late 80s and early 90s ;D
