I’ve no chance here as the only membership I have is with the TAXman! Saying that I do use the safe products! ;D ;D

Changing the subject slightly has anyone done the Leather Training Course by LTT? , I briefly spoke to them at the NEC really nice people just wondered on what thoughts were?
It is something I am looking at any advice would be fantastic.

Been told by the time you pay for the course,hotel and kit for cleaning it adds upto over £1000 don't know how true this is.Extracta do a nice leather kit which is quite good plus training which is not bad value not as in depth as ltt though.

I,ve done 3 days courses at LTT . Definitely recommend it for anyone doing leather or thinking of getting into it. Andy is a very knowledgable guy but has a great way of teaching it to you , patiently & understandable. Both Andy & Judy are only too willing to help & advise at the end of the phone which is really handy.

Not only is the training tops at LTT what I said about advice available at the end of the phone puts them way above any other supplier etc . I wouldn,t say I ve done loads of leather work but the cleaning , aniline re-dying & restoration , cut & scratch repair & colour repair etc I have done has certainly paid for itself . The cost of courses is no more than usual.

I spoke with them at the NEC, i found them to be very honest and helpfull,on top of that,they repaired and re coulered my partners leather jacket on thier stand while we watched, i will be doing one of their coures in the future.

I am a little mistified.

At CaRPEX I spoke to a very nice Gentleman from Woolsafe. He wanted me to join. I gained the impression that you needed to trained. Trading for a period of time. I thought two or three years.

No mention about having to belong to NCCA.


Could someone clarify please.

If you are referring to my thread I got that quote of their web site, no mention of ncca but it dose imply.

What is woolsafe org training is it different to say Prochem, Ashby’s or even Alltec’s. This is not a dig at them but a genuine request.

I spoke to them and they told me you need to
1. Have five years minimum experience.
2. Be a member of a recognised professional or trade association related to the cleaning industry, i.e NCCA or Proclean to name a couple.
3 Have attended a Woolsafe training course
4.Use Woolsafe approved products

Woolsafe told me i could't join as i hadn't been in business 5 years,this i find irritating,whats to say that a carpet cleaner will be any good just because of this?.

As someone pointed out there was a Course locally to me I was going to go along, But no point if they wont let me in as I am not in any of the clubs.

Cant see point of Woolsafe if you are in NCCA as surley this means you are trained to clean safely in all cleaning procedures.

Nwarly started on my NCCA grievence again but thought better of it.
