Title: Iso propyl Help
Post by: wightsurf on December 23, 2008, 07:55:47 pm
A friend has just brought round for me cost free 25ltrs of IPA Isopropyl.
Is it the right stuff to add to the water to stop any freezing?
Also do i add it to my storage tank or my wfp tank or both ?

Regards

Martin

Yes,you put in at a ratio of 250 mls / 250 litres, does'nt matter which tank as long as it's in the water.
When your using your WFP it will come out all bubbly but will disolve almost there and then, thinking of using it all year round, windows look even cleaner! :D

Thanks Slash

How do you know if you are cleaning windows which they have cleaned there self with some sort of soap, you know what i mean when they all soap up. If the iso does the same thing or is it different. Might try some on my own house to see what is like. Do you really think it cleans better ?

I have been reading some old threads about the stuff. Have i got it right , if i stick my TDS meter in it long as it is still low i will be alright ?
I don't know the manufacture, i have a look at the label tomorrow as it's out side and dark.

Just try it on your own windows first,I often used a TDS up to 0.10 and was fine but would'nt do it all the time, just chanced it when I was low on resin.

OK thanks everyone for the help, i'm going to give it a go on my own windows and see what happens. I think the ipa is about 95% but it's worth a go after all it was free  ;D.
