Guys what advertising methods get you best pound for pound results?
I advertised in the local paper (for the first time) 2 carpets for £40 and got inundated with phonecalls. I mean seriously busy - still hiring a machine so ended up cleaning from 8am on Sunday till 10pm without a lunch break. On Saturday i was from 9am - 12noon then went to the Game then 6.30 - 9pm.
Is this typically because its Christmas or does the newspapers always get a good return?
I had a call from a restraunt who asked me to clean teir carpet - its around 39' x 30' having to move the chairs and tables etc i quoted £275. When i first booked the appointment i was told that they would not decide until they got 3 quotes and i was the first. When i told them the price they gave me the go ahead straight away?!? Was i way too cheap???

Next he'll be creating another identity as a female who will say he's real and how they think the RD is brilliant too. ;D

finger prints retinal scan sounds like mission impossible wish i could afford to clean carpets for fortuy pounds. ps which paper do you advertise in seems like i need the tips anyone elses phone ringing off the hook cause of the local pap.
Ps on more serious note best form of advertisin is doin a good job pricing it right not too cheap or you turn into a busy fool and the quality will naturally go down.

If you want to buy a machine instead of hiring give me a shout, thus increasing your profit margin. I`m a newbie too, from the Glasgow area, so we could swap stories. Your obviously doing something right.

Derek and mike! What is so wrong with my posts. Let's be honest the rug doc is fair quality. I spoke to 4 pubs and they all own one so traditional carpet cleaners are dropping business all over the place. I do a good job and not even had a sniff at my rug doctor. So go away and keep kidding yourselves on while I rake it in.
I am not taking the p.

If there's less work around but less carpet cleaners that gives us teh same amount of population to go at doesn't it?
Although there might be a recession on if you listen to enough people they'll tell you and you'll believe them! look at the newspapers about March time first it was the credit crunch and then talks of recession all fueled by the American economy and given a healthy push by the media all wanting to sensationalise and be the first to tell us so.
As CC we chose to be the masters of our own destiny all you have to do is work smarter and not get dragged to shore.

If you're "raking it in", why waste your time trying to be funny?

If the Economy is going to Shrink by 2% why panic that still leaves 98%
Might have to deliver more value
Some might earn £1960 a week instead of £2000 ;D ;D
