Post by: Pristine Clean on December 23, 2008, 07:54:07 am
my TDS reading flactuates at the moment! Which I find strange.

I have a 5 stage RO unit. I have

40/40 ro
sediment
carbon
DI
Water softener

readings taken this morning are 003at around 6.45am    -     007 at 7.15am   -      005 at 7.50

The fist time I had 1000 litres pass throu I was getting 000

Advice appreciated.

Dave

Why is this? Any ideas? my DI resin has had only about 2000 itres passed through it...?

How are you taking the reading? Are you making sure that the container you use is clean? Even a tiny amount of contaminant left in the container can give a higher-than-normal reading.

Try rinsing the container (I use a small plastic beaker) a few times before taking a reading. You should find it's pretty consistent.
