Post by: bentsbrook27 on December 21, 2008, 10:55:53 pm
can anyone help i want to upgrade a painfully slow 300gpd unit by adding a4/40 ro unit on top of it but wondered how to set the waste up, i think it has to come from between the ro and di unit do i need some form of tap

just sell the 300gpd unit on fleabay, a 4040 will make loads of water as long as you have decent pressure.

Why do you want to do that?

Get rid of you Merlin unit and replace it with a decent system 40/40 RO, 20" carbon filter and 20" particulate filter, much faster water production and a far superior water to waste ratio (approx 1:1) as opposed to 1:6

You could improve the performance of your 300gpd RO with a booster pump.

you will prob find that one single 40" ro will produce your water plenty fast enough. depending on pressure.  we run 5 vans from on single 40" ro. hope this helps

thanks, i am now concerned about water softening before the prefilters as the area RH5 where we are is quite a hard water area, do you think this would protect the ro units or am i being over cautious. dont know my exact water pressure but sure its ok. do you have a softner on your 5 systems at x line and do you use a polly glass vessel or the clear 10inch bowls
