Just a thought following on when joe hatton started a post a while ago for us all to fill in our profiles and put our correct names and photos on :)
As we have been getting some so called newbies latley starting rubbish posts maybe its time for us to not even reply to any posts started by them ???

Hi Guys
It is always better if people use their right names but we have always allowed psuedonyms, unfortunately this sometimes leads to psuedoposters ::).
Personally I take more notice of people I know are genuine and I'm sure thats true for most.
Cheers

Yes I've tried to put a pic on a couple of times and look how mine turned out.
Keeps telling me it's too big.

I used this forum when I first started and probably asked some question you 'older' guys thought were a bit daft.
If it hadn't been for the forum there would have been situations that I would have not been able to deal with. Thanks to the open minded individuals who decided that I was 'worth' replying to, I have over the last 5 years built a strong and relatively successful business.
Should you decide that someone in the future is not worth your time to help then I just hope that you do not ask a question that someone else feels is 'beneath' them to answer... we all started somewhere and for you to be rallying round to stop people answering these posts I find extremely contradictory to the ethos of forum like this one.
I understand where you are coming from, and you have the right to ignore any posts you wish but you do not have the right to discourage newbies from posting.
Just my thoughts and you will of course do whatever you feel is the right thing to do for you.

the suggestion was that everybody fills in their profile, Clinton didnt mean just ignore newbies Im sure, just tells us a bit about themselves.
Funny how the easy fit carpets posted their photo but nowt else.
I have my ideas who it was.

If its worked you should now see my real name and picture - if it hasn't sorry! - I tried!

telling the difference between genuine threads and wind ups is relativley easy.
its pretty obvious who it is, he does it every month, must be rag week for him again. we get a load of threads from one end of the spectrum, i.e RD then all of a sudden someone pumping 2 million into cc. then he's off to the great ccdo to get better advice. doesn't take a genious does it!
i think there good fun, wind ups are a good get together to see who's gullible and who's got it.
that last one was hilarious.
maybe i'll start one.

I think this section has done well if only the window cleaners would do it :P
I see sense in not contributing to someone who hasn't filled in a profile as you would rather open up to someone that has also shared a bit to others, but who really knows if the info is real anyway?
Thats the thing on the internet, people hind behind other faces and names.

So it wasn't Derek in that picture then. ;D
Anyone got the time? ;D

I would never discourage newbies from posting on this forum...
Not true, your comments would almost certainly put a newbie off for fear of being ridiculed or accused of being someone they are not.
...just the point i was trying to make was like after the last newbie who has started a couple of meaningless threads just to get a reaction ::)
Mission acomplished then... starting this thread is probably the exact type of reaction they were looking for. Ignoring them would have been a better solution and would not have run the risk of alienating anyone.
Oh well eh.
