Title: Is this professional Machine Any good? Need to hire for 1 day.
Post by: ekps on December 17, 2008, 10:31:46 pm
http://www.hss.com/g/58342/Professional-Carpet-Cleaner.html

Probably fed up hearing from me and my use of the rug doctor as a pro machine to your horror.  I have got £300 of work lined up for Sunday which will add into my existing £800 (£1200 total - woohoo) pot to boost my funds to buy proper gear and training.

I have to hire a machine for Sunday and looked at the above link - any1 recognise the machine or offer me advice on it? Can you have a look at the others and let me know if i would get away with a cheaper machine from hss? Or should i stick to the Rug Doctor (my faithful friend) Links Below

Thanks for your continued support and advice to the regulars.

Alex

Alex,
I was aked to help a fellow carpet cleaner on a job about 6 months ago using a truckmount.  We had 5000sqm to clean in 2 days.  He runs ashbys & prochem portables.  He also hired 1 of those from HSS.  Although i only used the truckmount the other lads said that the HSS portable was pretty good.  The carpets were heavily soiled & it did the job.

Richie.
PS
The areas cleaned by myself with the truckmount when dry looked better than the areas cleaned by the portables.  In fact i had to re-clean 2 areas with the truckmount that had been cleaned on the first day by the portables.
Working the truckmount was myself & 1 other guy.  We worked out that we had cleaned 2400 sqm with the truckmount in the 2 days and the 4 portables with 6 men cleaned the other 2600sqm.    TRUCKMOUNTS SAVE £££££££

The price of the job is less important than what the job amounts to. If it's household the HSS machine should cope well enough, if it's commercial, might struggle.

In all seriousness fella you have to be takin the p*ss here in Ireland we arnt crazy about this sort of crap.Although new to this forum i believe that the vast majority of people who post on here are
genuine in their pride and the responsbility in which they take their profession. If you are a newbie who is after good, sound, professional advice from people who have been there, done it,made the mistakes and learned how to rectify them then thats spot on......if not f$$k o&f

Been wondering since the first post if EeeeeeeeeeeeKaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay  was taking the PiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiSssssssss!

So ekps, whereabouts are you located, there are several on here from around the Glasgow area who might have been able to help with your dilemma.

What's the nature of your £300 job for Sunday ?  If you turn up with a little R/D under your arm, the client might show you her Bissell, or Hoover, or Vax and suggest the reason for calling a " pro " was to get a better result than her own machine could produce.

No contact details Mike and I'm not quite local, could be 30miles away. Not sure if I could assist in any way at this stage. The guy seems to have found a suitable machine from HSS which is 10 times better than the little R/D.

I would stick with the rug doctor, in fact buy 2, then on big jobs you could fix them sise by side, like host system.

then your dual wanding, and twice as fast ;)
