Mine arrived this morning and i've just popped back in from setting them up. Have to say what a simple piece of kit they are. Very reassuring knowing the ladder isn't going to kick out. :)
-
Agreed, they are very secure.
My only complaint was you had to constantly slide them on and off for every window you cleaned, as they always slipped off.
Secure? Certainly. But not the most practical if you were on a domestic round all day.
-
Excellent bit of kit, if your doing a domestic round with houses next to each other? don't keep removing them but slide them up the stiles a little and pull down to lock them in place, walk to next door, set your ladder up and slide the limpet back down into place, no need to keep removing them.
-
Have to agree superb piece of kit, just the sort of thing you would have seen on Dragons Den!
-
Microlite? whats that a stand off? do you have a link.

Its a stand-off with wheels.
Some call it a tobaggon ;D

i can see the benifit if you up the ladder for long periods ,but to have to bend down twice and mess with it on every window becomes time consuming
What do you want an automatic one ::)

Word of caution. Laddatec limpets are an extremely useful accessory for ladders BUT they can slip whilst attached to ladders if placed on very slippery decking, I speak from experience. I've used laddatec limpets for 10years and they gave me peace of mind when cleaning 3storey windows years ago before the WAHD came into force in 2005. I swear by them, very good at stopping a ladder sliding away on most surfaces EXCEPT slippery decking.

Micro lite stand offs are good for resting near the edge of roof tiles over guttering as they have soft wheels which sink flat -ish against tiles which prevents the ladder sliding sideways.
-
I don't see limpets on the web site. How much are they and does anyone have a price for the stand off that can be used over guttering?

I liked the look of the Microlite, not so sure at £150ish. I might look for another stand-off, as mine on its way out.
Any recommendations??
-
Having now used the microlite (& limpets) I would pay double, make gutter work safe, easy and quick.
Sorry to hog the thread.
I am certainly interested in the combination, Microlite and Limpets.
Have you rested the microlite on glass, and if you have how was it?
-
Why buy that for £150 when you can get a stand-off for £25.00. What does this Microlite thing do that a stand-off doesnt....apart from have wheels; what theyre for I havent a clue. Ive never wheeled a ladder up a wall in my years of window/gutter cleaning

These are all I use now - I can't see anything safer on the market.

Wrong forum i think.

Trevor Knight when he was Mod had the code from Ian to get the discount, members who want the discount asked Trevor, he gave them a code so the members could apply for discount, they go to laddatecs website and add the code.
I would have thought the code would be given to other Mods.

I aked for the code on another forum because Laddatec have a banner on there advertising their product. They had lost the code so i simply phoned up Laddatec and they gave it to me to enter when ordering online.
